There is more than enough talent in the the third round and later for running backs. In fact, the only guys I think are locks to be off the board by the second round will be Spiller, Matthews and Best.

Dexter McCluster (if he falls)
Montario Hardesty
Ben Tate (if he stays on the board)
LeGarrette Blount
Toby Gerhart
Joique Bell
Joe McKNight
Jonathan Dwyer (your boi)
Anthony Dixon
Andre Dixon
Deji Karim

Plus, Icness has discussed the chance of the Lions trading their 4th rounder for Willis McGahee during the draft.

Then who would be the best back left ? Ben Tate (if he stays on the board)
Defence Wins Championships,we need to return to the Bad Boy era.

I'd take any of Tate, Hardesty, McCluster, Blount or Gerhart to be honest. But I like some of these guys better than others. I know Icness isn't found of Gerhart and someone (I can't remember who right now) isn't too fond of McCluster. BUt all of them are upgrades for us IMO.

Exactly Liq. It's not top heavy for RB's, but that's because other positions are stacked so it makes RB's look worse. Blount, Hardesty, and Tate are 2nd round picks in any other drafts but those guys will be taken 3rd, 4th, and 5th rounds this year.

Absolutely. This draft is so deep that teams are taking needs early becuase know guys will still be available later. My god, when's the last time 6 OTs could be drafted in the first round... and there's options left over?

There are going to be ALOT of linemen taken (both sides of the ball) early. This is going to push down positional players (like RBs). Doesn't mean they aren't talented, it's just a result of a very good draft. :D

I really like the offense Mayhew is building. I think our O-line is adequate for now. IMO, we are one good RB away from having an average offense (meaning around 16th-20th overall in the league). But I don't want our GM to reach for a RB when he doesn't need to. Take BPA early, especially in the first two rounds, and take a good RB in the 3rd or 4th round. There will be guys there. Worse case scenario, our 4th round pick doesn't pan out, and we're in the running for Mark Ingram next draft. :)

Could you imagine an offense with...

QB- Matt Stafford
WR- Calvin Johnson, Nate Burleson
RB- Mark Ingram
TE- Brandon Pettigrew, Tony Scheffler

If you wanna scream about something, think of what our offense would be like if we drafted right in 2008.

QB: Matt Stafford
RB: Chris Johnson
WR: Calvin Johnson
WR: Desean Jackson

Those were players I was especially high on as well, and i happened to be very low on Cherilus and Dizon. That draft stung good.

Agreed. Want to buy me a White Castle instead? I'm a cheap lunch date. ;)
