Ben Wallace got a vote? He's still alive? Who knew?
Of course "they're still alive?" is what the rest of the world says these days when asked about the Pacers. No wonder Hibbert got no votes.

Re: Hibbert got no respect
Hibbert didn't exactly break out...he's had a solid year. Usually they don't give it to guys who are in their first 3 years, because young players are expected to make that kind of improvement.

Re: Hibbert got no respect
Brooks had a huge production jump that people did not expect out of him. There's a lot of factors. In my opinion, the MIP criteria is far from concrete. Other awards don't have half as many players receiving votes.

Re: Hibbert got no respect
It's too early for Hibbert. He didn't make a big enough leap this season.

If he can make another jump in production next season, I think he'll have a strong chance.

12 points, 6 rebounds, and about 1.5 blks a game for a 7'2" 280 lb starting center. Plus like people said, hes a Pacer. Most of the league forgot about them. Without the internet I can't even name your head coach.

Re: Hibbert got no respect
he got no respect b/c he sucks
come on man.. do you watch basketball? at least know the game b4 you speak of it.
obviously a.brooks was going to get it.
if our dumb coach played him in more games and minutes, and if his stats exploded like brooks, then he would have been considered.
a.brooks, david lee, scola, kevin durant, westbrook, oh hell even zebo. but NO, not roy hibbert.

And you should probably read the thread before you start insulting the intelligence of...who are you even aiming your vile at? Nobody was saying that Hibbert should've gotten MIP, simply recognition for his improvement, which was significant.

14K posts on a basketball forum and you can't name the Pacers coach? I call BS.

Re: Hibbert got no respect
That would be more than BS.
It's understandable, i mean Hibbert not being on the MIP list is understandable and i would be overly surprised if he was on that list. a couple of years more, and maybe he can contend for the MIP, he's still learning right now. I just hope he could double up his rebounding and shot blocking averages next year, 6 and 1.5 aren't that impressive, but at 25 minutes per game, it's pretty understandable. His minutes should go up next year as a starter, and hopefully his numbers too.
