Between Kindle, Griffen, Dunlap and Cody...I'm hoping that Tannenbaum made some phone calls and is at least contemplating a move up to load up on the talent. I could see one of Dunlap/Cody dropping as there are the QB's and a load of prospects left...this could be a helluva draft for us despite not having many picks.

Regarding trading up...yeah if the Jets feel they have enough depth on the roster already it's possible that trading up to land on one of the top dogs remaining may be worth it. But a lot of guys seem to be slipping and sliding or shooting up that you wouldn't have expected so they still may find one or more of those guys around by the time they pick. Not really sure there are any sure fire talents that fit what they need. Kindle is nice but with Taylor signed becomes not as necessary, and there are some concerns about his game. Cody would be nice but there are also a couple of guys that should be around that may only be a step down from him and you still have to worry about Cody's long term ability to stay in shape. Taylor Mays MIGHT be the one guy you want to try to trade up for as he has great talent, pedigree and plays a position of need but he supposedly has some red flag about his mental makeup (though he seems like an extremely smart, if but real arrogant, guy in interviews).

A future pick to land Kindle would be nice. The depth this year is worth risking picks next year imho. Taylor is a one year rental (he'll be released). Mays falling this far kind of scares me. Cody...I think could be great, but I wouldn't mind holding tight and hoping for Dunlap to fall. Earlier in the process, I was thinking he'd be a solid pick at 29.

Edit: NVM Kindle, rumor has it he has a major knee injury and needs microfracture...could end up drafted tomorrow or worse out of the draft. Don't know the merits to it but from another board "Allow me to point you to an article written by respected Longhorns beat reporter Chip Brown of the UT Rivals.com site. It reports on what he terms "a potential bombshell brewing" regarding the knee injury Kindle played with in 2009."

I like the pick, suits Rex perfectly.

If we can trade up in the draft, we are in a very good position from there.

Funny... I had the exact opposite reaction. One pick away and the damn Dolphins took the guy that I wanted to come away with at the 29th pick. I like Odrick a lot as a player.

As far as the second round goes I'm not sure what Tanny has in mind, but I agree that we need to come away with someone on the line. Joseph and Houston are my two main guys I want.

I still have a hard on for Arthur Moats later on in the draft.

We knew about Vilma and that didn't stop us at all. A team will still take Kindle in the top five picks that start today IMO.

I now think J. Clausen will be a Bill that the first round is over.

I am liking Kyle Wilson, and hoping the Jets trade up to take another defensive star.

Crap, we missed Mount Cody by 4 picks!

I'm hearing rumors that we may go OG and cut Faneca which makes NO sense to me. The guy is not what he used to be but he is a key piece in this SB run and he's still due $5M+ guaranteed.

Wooten and Sapp still on the board. If they are gone I'd trade down. I think rd 3 will have a run on WRs.

Vladimir Ducasse, T, U Mass.

There were rumors though that Faneca could get traded for some younger pieces. So you never know.

I heard that too. I like DuCasse but he may need a year to develop. I don't think Faneca is going to get us anything higher than a 5th, if that... but who knows... I'd rather just keep him. Plus he's guaranteed around $5M this year either way.

Ducasse is a very raw talent, and working him in with our vets is a good option. I don't see Faneca ending up being traded, so I'm happy with the pick if he makes Ducasse better.

On DuCasse:

Ducasse is a three-year starter at tackle that translates inside to guard for the next level. He came to the U.S. from Haiti in 2002 and that was his first exposure to playing the game of football. He is very athletic for his size with foot quickness, agility and body control but due to his limited experience he often takes poor angles and is not always very quick to recognize stunts and twists by the defensive front. When he has no doubt as to what he is supposed to do, Ducasse looks dominating and powerful. While he is not apt to be an instant impact player, Ducasse has a chance to become a quality starter due to his size, power and athleticism.

Strengths:
Excellent size with a huge frame and long arms --- Tough, physical and aggressive --- Very strong --- Good athleticism and agility --- Quick and fires off the snap --- Light on his feet --- Gets an outstanding push in the run game --- Stout at the point of attack and can anchor --- Mobile with range to pull, get out in space and reach the second level --- Is feisty and competitive with a nasty on-field demeanor --- Zealous work ethic --- Is versatile --- Durable --- Experienced --- Considerable upside.

Weaknesses:
Questionable instincts and awareness --- Inconsistent leverage and pad level --- Footwork will need to be refined --- Average slide and mirror ability --- Trouble sustaining and falls off blocks --- Concentration and focus will wane at times --- Did not face a lot of quality competition.

Notes:
Last name is pronounced "DOO-cahss" --- Was a three-year starter for the Minutemen --- Born in Port Au Prince, Haiti and didn't come to the United States until 2002, when he was 14-years-old --- Earned 1st Team FCS All-American honors in 2009 --- Named 1st Team All-CAA in 2008 and 2009 --- Also fluent in French and Creole and didn't learn English until his freshman year of high school --- Was a team captain as a senior --- Could project to either tackle or guard at the next level and has experience at both positions --- Still raw and relatively new to the game but is an extremely intriguing prospect with all the physical tools as well as the top - notch intangibles needed to maximize his potential.

Versatility to play anywhere on the line. Gotta like that.

That's a great attribute to have.

He looks strong, tough, and fast. He could do wonders for Sanchez if he showcases his talents.

Man, we needed to get younger on the D-line.

I'm hoping we trade some picks from next year to this year and move up to get Griffen or Wootton while they're still available.
