Both Nene and JR are not expiring. Some do seem in favor of trading both though. Returns have to be good though, especially for Nene for it to benefit Denver.

JR will be an expiring next year.

I don't like talking about the offseason now, but I'm bored so what I'd like to see personally (if we get bundled out by the Jazz):

Go after Bosh... KMart + JR + future picks for Bosh + Hedo. Bosh is an unrestricted FA, if we can convince Bosh to come here, Raptors could accept that trade in a S&T... and yes we would be able to pay for Bosh's salary that way. Then try to convince the Raptors to buyout KMart so they save even more money and so that we can re-sign him to the minimum.

Extend Melo, Afflalo, and Lawson. And then depending on how cheap Stan is find a high scoring SG with the MLE. If things work well, we could also try to offload Bird for an expiring.

C - Nene / Birdman
PF - Bosh / KMart
SF - Melo / Hedo
SG - Afflalo / ???
PG - Billups / Lawson

^If KMart gets bought out, I'm not so sure if he'll come back with us. Because the title contenders will definitely try to sign him up at the price of the minimum.

I don't think KMart has man crush on Denver like Z has on Cleveland. I don't think he's that loyal. When two teams are offering the same money, one is us, the other is a legitimate title contender, I think he will go with the latter.

But if we got Bosh, we surely can be a legit title contender.

But not this year.

And that is awful. Hedo sucked this year, is being paid a lot, and won't even get on the court much since he plays behind Melo. Kmart + JR + future 1st is more than enough to land Bosh, if he decides to come to Denver.

Then I'd say trade Billups... for... something to fill in some of the holes, maybe a combo PG/SG to back up both Ty and AA. Or a SG/SF, a better back up big, or better yet a combo of two of those and then fill in the third hole with the MLE.

Ty/Backup Vet
AA/
Nene/Petro
Melo/Balkman
Bosh/Birdman

We'd need to take a bad contract off their hands as well... or else other teams such as the Rockets, Cavs, Heat will outbid us for him.

They can't out bid Denver. If Bosh says, I'm going to Denver or I'll go sign with another team for nothing, the Raptors' hands are tied.
