So far, Spurs themselves haven't shown up for game 4.
TD is giving us one of those sorry games from February-March.

Re: game 4
Hill is growing each game, his confidence is out of this world right now.
Tony, Manu, Dice with some big boards, Jefferson making up for Timmy sucking tonight. Blair pitched in his energy and changed the momentum of the game.
Loved it!

Spurs looking like what we expected with the off season pick ups. Solid D. We just need to limit our turnovers.

Re: game 4
The thing I'm most surprised of on this game is our toughness. Damn, I mean a few years ago we couldn't defend physical. I was hoping we get some sort of a bulldog kind of player once I see Haslem and the Heat knocking Dirk to the floor time and time again. Things start getting chippy between Dirk and Blair. and then Jefferson flagrant Dirk. Najera flagrant Manu. Blair flagrant Kidd. Or was it not? I forgot. And there's also the Jefferson-Terry thing. But we delivered some pretty hard fouls that I didn't think was in us. Blair and Jefferson got some love from me for game 4.

That clip of pop explains it all. Dude was ready to kick Najera's ass. We played very physical tonight. Be props for RJ and Blair showing toughness. Who would have thought it possible.

Great game tonight, very gritty and very intense. I loved the way we played tonight and I love the way the young guns performed. Hill was absolutely amazing and Blair gave us a barrel of energy and grit off the bench.

I really love how Pop got furious but his head was actually cool enough to tell his assistants to keep the guys on the bench. Somewhere, D'antoni must be thinking "If only I did the same thing"....

Re: game 4
I think all these flagrants the refs call these days are ridiculous. Stern's rules make the league soft. That foul Blair had on Kidd shouldve been a personal. The Jefferson flagrant on DIRK was weak. The Najera throwdown should've also been a personal. Back in the 80's the game was much more physical since there was no Stern and soft rules. I still love that McHale clothesline on Rambis. Spurs played a great game last night and George Hill was ridiculous. I think Pops should talk to DIRK after the Spurs win this series and convince him to opt out and join the Spurs next season for the MLE. Would be a match made in heaven.

Re: game 4
I didn't watch the NBA until around 1995 so I don't know how it was all the way back in the 1980s.
I don't wanna be a homer, but I don't see how Najera's foul on Manu isn't a flagrant. When you foul a guy without even attempting for the ball and can seriously injure a guy, that's a flagrant in my book. Najera didn't go after the ball. If he was only looking to give a hard foul, fine.. body him hard like what Blair did to Kidd. But he grabbed Manu by the shoulders (or neck) and just threw him down. You can seriously injure someone that way. And I'm really sure Najera knows that Manu already has a broken nose. It's like he purposely want to end someone's career. I don't think that's what you call a hard foul.
Blair put a body foul on Kidd up in the air and it's body hit body. Jefferson took a swipe at the ball when Dirk drove and caught arm. Both was hard fouls in the 1990s. But Najera's not. LOL, 1 minute into the game to do just that. Mavericks thinking a hard foul will scare us or some ****... Great job Carlisle.

Re: game 4
They're just frustrated. They didn't expect to be down in the game, or the series. The Mavs are pretty physical but we don't get rattled when that stuff happens. People forget, we're championship tested, we've been there before.

Re: game 4
I don't think the Mavs are actually a physical team. Much like how we're not actually THAT physical. The funny thing is that the Mavs tried to act physical.
FAILED.
FAILED.

They're a physical team by today's standards.
