his agent didn't help much either..what a dick.

no i know, his mom was talking a lot of ish to in the news outlets etc haha but yea i know why he wanted a new contract he was still on his roookie one for so long and he 100% outplayed it BUT he didn't deserve top Rb type money at all

His wife was talking smack about the Jets organization on Twitter aswell!!

good riddance to the entire Washington family. enjoy the rain in Seattle.

hahaha,I still like him though and think he can play, i like what seattle did getting him and Lendalle thats pretty solid...to me though we have 2 rb's on rookie contracts and a lot of our core who are looking for new deals and we just need all the money we can to sign those guys...what do you think about this donovan warren guy we signed as a UFA, he was supposed to be a 2nd round pick and fell cause he didn't run that welll of a 40 time, im hoping he can maybe play safety for us kid Is a ridicuously hard hitter..

My cousin is BFF's with his agent. The guy is like 26 years old. Cotchery and Leon are his only clients. Dude doesn't know what he's doing.

He told me that if Leon is dealt on draft day, (like I told him he would 3 months ago) he would get me a job on the Jets.

I'm waiting....

Is your cousin from VA? Alvin Keels has a lot of clients. Unfortunately, the guy is known for making teams overpay (Girbril Wilson, DeAngelo Hall) and Tanny wasn't going for it. I feel bad for Leon because it sounds like he is surrounded by greed. His wife, Keels, Mom, all gave him bad advice and then the worse thing that could happen happened. I really hope he comes back 100% but I have a feeling he wont be ready for opening day and that's something Tanny couldn't risk. PLus he was never going to meet his price so better to get something for him now. I love Leon as a player, but business is business and Tanny did the right thing.

As for Faneca, 7 sacks allowed as a guard is bad. Its even worse when you consider that the Jets made the least amount of pass attempts in the NFL last year. I dont agree with the timing, but then again you dont want him in the locker room during camp stirring up trouble like he did in Pittsburgh. Ducasse is a mauler. Slauson = mauler. We'll be OK.

Simple case of getting rid of somebody before it is too late. Well guess what, we just flat out released the guy, guess it was TOO LATE, unreal. Same old Jets.

For a team that did so well last year they are making a ton of changes. Weren't they the #1 rushing offense? And special teams and D were there strength? I dont know....I dont think THIS much change is good. Especially when a lot of these moves seem to be money saving moves in an uncap year...

Even if the guy fell off, I'm sure injuries will happen and its better to keep him on as a backup or let him fight for a job. Its just very hard to spin cutting a guy to save $2mill in an uncapped year as a good move....

He still hasn't recovered from his injury. Apparently he hasn't even started lateral movement exercises yet.

In regards to Faneca, people need to understand how salary cap ramifications impact decisions being made. The focus on "no apparent reason" should be on the apparent part, because it means one doesn't know why it isn't apparent.

Yep, these were moves that will help ensure we can re-sign the more important guys aka Revis, Harris etc. I was half expecting Ellis to be gone too, but we didn't add any depth at his spot...so I guess he's got one more year as a Jet.

In football of you believe you can get the same or similar production from a 22 year old compared to a 33 year old--you do it. They have a great line as is and getting faster bigger and younger at one position with two guys who will compete for the job keeps everyone sharp.

Leon was not going to be ready for opening day. I think we will potentially miss Leon for this year but we made the run last year without him. We got the highest rated fullback and a good solid third back--so you will think that we have enough.

I think if you look at + - for the offseason--we kept most of our core--added one of the best WR in the league--added three very good CB and a solid safety. We actually signed a kid from Michigan right after the draft named Donovan Warren who we were going to take with pick 7 if we had kept it anyway.
We add a premiere pass rusher we get back Kris Jenkins who was dominant before he got hurt. I think next year we will start having to reconstruct the front 3 but I think it's solid as is right now. I'm looking forward to the season---as long as the summer goes s l o w.

You guys seriously dont know what your talkin about. Leon wasn't a every down back but he had a lot of all pupose yards. He deserved 5 mil a year for his contributions...that's all he was asking for ..atleat originally. He was an rb, pr, and kr. He was explosive and couldn't get a td on any given play...he was derserving but the jets front office always play hardball. But to say we didn't need him is pure ignorance. Just cuz front office makes a move doesn't always make it a good one.

We are gonna suffer for moving Faneca..mark my words...we did this same bull with Pete Kendall and it cost Pennington his arm.

We now have Kyle Wilson to return our kickoffs and Leonhard should we still ask him to return our punts who plays the corner well enough for us to further strengthen our blitz packages. We've got a younger multi-purpose RB with good hands who also can return kicks in McKnight. Shonn Greene also has come out as another big playmaker as seen in our playoff run. We don't even know if Leon is ever going to return to true form. Rumors have it that he would start on the PUP list. I love Leon and I hope he proves us wrong, but giving him a contract now that his agent (and his wife) were asking for wasn't going to happen.

I felt we should've kept Faneca too and paid the extra $2 million, but the difference is that Slauson and hopefully, Ducasse >>> Adrien Clarke and Will Montgomery.

No struggle for Faneca.

Agreed to a one-year deal with AZ today.
