Re: 2010 Minor League Thread!
Heres how my top 25 are doing through one month...
1. Jesus Montero - .247/.313/.384, 2 homers, 4 doubles, 9 RBI, 7/13 BB/K. He'll be OK, he's a 20 year old in AAA
2. Austin Romine - .354/.425/.492, 9 doubles, 12 RBI, 8/12 BB/K. Playing really really well
3. Manny Banuelos - Had an emergency appendectomy the day before his first start of the season, hopefully he gets back soon. At least it isn't a pitching related injur
y
4. Slade Heathcott - In extended spring training
5. Zach McAllister - 3.86 ERA, 28 innings, 29 hits, 8 BB, 21 K. Has been kind of inconsistent, he has given up 4 runs, 0, 1, 6, 1. Considering how consistent he has been over his career I think he'll settle down and get on a nice run soon.
6. Gary Sanchez - In extended spring training
7. DJ Mitchell - 6.63 ERA, 19 innings, 18 hits, 14 BB, 8 K. Yikes, its only been a few starts so hopefully he turns it around
8. Corban Joseph - .313/.348/.482, 8 doubles, 2 HR, 15 RBI, 4/19 BB/K, 2 SB. Solid player but early on in the season it seems like he may be surpassed by other guys in the organization
9. Andrew Brackman - 13.50 ERA, 8 innings, 16 hits, 1 BB, 5 K. On the DL...bust. At least he only walked 1 guy in 8 innings. Actually expected to pitch today.
10. JR Murphy - In extended spring training
11. Dellin Betances - Recently began throwing off a mound, hopefully he returns fairly soon
12. Abraham Almonte - .263/.333/.351, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 3 RBI, 6/16 BB/K, 5 SB. Started really hot and looked like he would pick up where he left off last year, but is hitting .200 in his last 10 games
13. Eduardo Nunez - .377/.442/.494, 6 doubles, 1 HR, 8 RBI, 8/5 BB/K, 8 SB. Beasting...just can't play defense at all
14. Graham Stoneburner - 2.61 ERA, 31 innings, 24 hits, 7 BB, 32 K. Excellent start, like this kid a lot. Leads the SALLY league in Ks
15. Jose Ramirez - 1.93 ERA, 23.1 innings, 19 hits, 7 BB, 29 K. Was everybody's sleeper pick this year because of how he exploded onto the scene last year, and all hes done is dominate and is 5th in the SALLY league in Ks. He'll find himself in the top 10 at the end of the year if not sooner if he keeps this up.
16. Jairo Heredia - 9.20 ERA, 14.2 innings, 25 hits, 7 BB, 11 K. Miserable start...was one of my favorites the past couple of years but he looks like he has nothing right now.
17. David Adams - .321/.404/.513, 9 doubles, 2 HR, 14 RBI, 10/17 BB/K, 4 SB.
18. Kelvin De Leon - In extended spring training
19. Jeremy Bleich - 2.38 ERA, 22.2 innings, 14 hits, 13 BB, 14 K. Too many walks but hes not giving up many hits either
20. Ivan Nova - 2.70 ERA, 30 innings, 26 hits, 10 BB, 28 K. Proving me wrong and I'm loving it
21. Christian Garcia - No comment
22. Eduardo Sosa - In extended spring training
23. Wilkin De La Rosa - 4.61 ERA, 13.2 innings, 13 hits, 8 BB, 8 K. I'm glad he is in the pen because that is the only chance he has of making the majors, but I thought he would have better numbers.
24. Brad Suttle - .250/.307/.338, 4 doubles, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 7/23 BB/K, 2 SB
25. George Kontos - DL
1. Jesus Montero - .247/.313/.384, 2 homers, 4 doubles, 9 RBI, 7/13 BB/K. He'll be OK, he's a 20 year old in AAA

The draft actually starts next Monday I believe, but only the 1st round is Monday
BTW Slade Heathcott played his first game tonight for Charleston and had a walk off single. Solid way to start a career.

Hopefully whoever they draft will sign. I hated how Cole fell to the Yankees but he didn't sign. It would be nice to have another big arm in the system. His stats this year were 9-2 with a 3.27 ERA... 96.1 innings and 124 SO with an opponent .200 BA.
