Sucks, he never had a chance to really get going.

I'm sorry for his injury, and that it's career ending. No question that sucks, and I wish the best for him. But ....

In truth, I think he was a "look like Tarzan, play like Jane' guy. For all the horn blowing McCarthy and Greene were doing over Thompson last year during OTA's and mini-camps, the guy never made a play when he was on the field.

Even if healthy, I doubt Thompson would have made this year's final roster.

Feel bad for the guy, hopefully he doesn't have any permanent lingering effects from this.

Good to see a guy making a smart decision. Best of luck to Thompson in his future pursuits.

This makes me really sad. Dude had all the potential in the world. Wish him the best.

This is ridiculously uncalled for.

I wish Thompson the best.

That sucks. I liked the guy, shame he has to end his career this way.

Why? He can't make a negative evaluation of what he thought Thompson's future potential was just because the guy suffered a career-ending injury? It isn't like the guy is dead , he is retiring at 24 having earned 10x more per year than a lot of people make. No ill will was expressed in the post. I just told my menstruating girlfriend this story and even she didn't think there was anything objectionable in the post you quoted. T

It sucks his career had to end prematurely but I see no reason that should prohibit someone from stating their opinion of him as an NFL player (especially when the opposite opinion had been expressed). If we want to be all uber-sensitive, I'm sure we can find more worthy recipients of our pity than a retired 24 year old (likely) millionaire.

+1

I actually agree. Definitely s*cks this happened and seemed to have potential, but it never really translated when he was on the field. I also agree he would've been in a dogfight to make the team this year. Its unfortunate what happened, but that is a risk he signed up for and he's been compenstated pretty well. If he manages his money well, he should be set for a decent living.
