Off Season Moves
everyone knows the '10 free agent class is stacked, what are some realistic obtainable players we can get this off season,
for example one player I would like to target is Brendon Haywood, he is the presence and type of player we were severley lacking this past season, Also Mike Miller, Kyle Korver and Jason Kapano are free agents, I think we should pick up one of htem for scoring off the bench, a good off season IMO would include, -Letting felton walk, using that money to sign Haywood, Resigning TT, signing ethier Korver/Kapano or Miller, and etheir getting a solid PG through trade, or signing one, Maybe Kyle Lowry...
And finally, some how finding a way to move boris diaw
(So if the basketball Gods are giving some grace to the bobcats, I would want this team to look like this by the trade deadline)
CP3/DJ
Jax/Mike Miller
Crash/James Posey
TT/UPS
Haywood/Diop/Ajinca

Re: Off Season Moves
oh please stun, stop this CP3 crap. There's a higher chance of Felton getting a max contract this summer, than Chris Paul coming to Charlotte. Otherwise rename this thread in "Offseason of your wet dreams", because then I will also 'start with some 2k10-like Lebron-to-Charlotte scenarios.

You forgot "Get Lebron, DWade and Bosh to sign for the veteran's minimum."

Re: Off Season Moves
It would be awesome to land a guy like Mike Miller as our 6th man. Just perfect. I just don't think we'll have the $$$$ to do it.
Next year has to be about the kids IMO. Give DJ, Hendo, UPS, T2 and Lexy as much playing time as possible. Really sink or swim with them. If we are picking in the lottery this time next year - so be it.
That way we can work out who are keepers and who should be cut loose going into the summer of '11 - a summer where we should have a boat load of cap room (with TC and Nazzy coming off the books) to the tune of around $20 million and our 2nd chance to really do something special with this roster - only this time I hope we don't stuff it up like we did last time.

Re: Off Season Moves
New member here, thought I would share some off-season thoughts:
Tyrus Thomas should be the main priority of the off-season. Not only has a first round pick been invested in him, he's shown that he can play quality ball if given an opportunity. If he improves on his shot, he could be a great third option on offense.
The team cannot make the same mistake with Felton that they made with Okafor. If they can't resign Felton for a fair rate or sign-and-trade him, let him walk. Chandler did not push this team into the playoffs, and his salary could have been used for other players.
The most realistic option for a bench scorer is Larry Hughes. I know many people dislike Hughes, but I would prefer him at a cheap rate then spending a lot of money on Miller or Korver. I believe Kapono is taking his option, so he wouldn't be available. Larry Hughes will likely take a one year deal for a few million (or even the veterans minimum), Miller or Korver will most likely want a multi-year deal. If Henderson is going to develop, a long-term deal for a guard coming off the bench is not going to help.
As far as Chris Paul goes, I think it's unlikely, but I wouldn't eliminate the possibility of him coming here (or to another team). The combination of Collison and Thornton has been impressive and the Hornets may want to keep it. If Paul comes to Charlotte, a third team would have to be involved (the Knicks would be ideal for this). Center a trade around Felton going to New York, Paul going to Charlotte, and David Lee going to New Orleans. Unlikely, sure, but not impossible. It's more likely that he gets dealt to another team, possibly to a team with a high draft pick this year.
The only other thing that I can think of is if the team can figure out a way to move Diaw and Diop. Chandler's and Mohammed's contracts should help and the 'Cats have prospects that could be sacrificed to make it work. Maybe Minnesota will give Ryan Hollins back.

Re: Off Season Moves
I think raptors would be ideal for a 3 person trade, if hornets really wana move paul I think they'll want to move okafor too, and if raptor fans on real gm are any beramoter of how their FO thinks they actually want to get okafor if bosh leaves

Re: Off Season Moves
I have to think we have plans to make some moves anyway. MJ is not a super wealthy owner and this team just put out a disappointing playoff showing. A couple of months ago he said something like, "we don't know how good this team can be", but now we're a lot closer to knowing and it isn't great. We have some near expirings and a couple of young prospects. Maybe we can even get something out of a Felton or Tyrus S&T.

Is there any possible way to get Mo Williams to the Bobcats? His offense can do alot for the Bobcats... He can shot 3s all day, something we need badly.

Maybe if LeBron leaves, but even then I doubt it. Getting West or Gibson would be more possible.
A pure shooter like JJ Reddick would be useful, but the team would probably have to overpay to get him.

I think the constant Boos would be very distracting for him.

@hhvo - Ah, come on. The Duke fans would flock in and drown out the boos.
@Stun - I'd love to see Curry, but remember that the Warriors wouldn't take OJ Mayo for Ellis. If they win the lottery, they might trade the pick and keep the Curry/Ellis combo.

We might have won a game against Orlando if he showed up.
