I wish I knew more about DJ White. How good is he during practice? If Green got traded could he replace Green's numbers of 15pts and 6rebs in 37minutes?
Look I like Green and I think he is pretty clutch and seems like a decent guy but 15pts and 6rebs in 37minutes?
There is a thread on the trade page about Thabeet for Green and I was just curious what you guys thought?
What front line has more potential. Offensively and defensively.
C Thabeet
PF Ibaka
6th DJ White
or
C Ibaka
PF Green
6th DJ White.
Am I the only one that thinks DJ White could pull down similar numbers to Green's 15pts and 6rebs? Green for Thabeet a potential 8 and 10 with 2+blocks. He's a guy who can change the game defensively.
I don't think it will happen but I'm pretty open to it.
I wonder how good DJ White is going to be?

He is a great jump shooting big, who can also grab some rebounds, but I think his defense is horrible.

His defense gets a bad rap, but he's played pretty good defense in the D-League, at least by those standards. I don't think he's as bad defensively as some would make him out to be. I doubt he gets much run with the main group and our defense is highly predicated on communication and precise rotations... he looks better in the D-League where he's spent time with those guys.
I think DJ is at least a rotation player. He has a good offensive game, he's been a decent rebounder at every level he's played, and he's a hustle guy who plays with heart.
The problem with White is that he's strictly a PF. He's not versatile at all. So our team doesn't like him much. Green can play all over the place, Ibaka can go PF / C and has quickness to be left on an island on the perimeter.. if White could capably play center I think he'd be in our rotation. But he can't.
I don't think he'll crack our rotation any time soon. Maybe if he has a good camp and stays healthy he'll be a someone to replace Nick Collison if we let Nick go (Nick will be approaching 31 years old and will probably get an MLE type deal...). More likely is he'll be trade ballast in some type of move this offseason, in my opinion anyway.
I think you're selling Green way short if you think White can do better than him. Green's no PF and he puts us at a disadvantage with Krstic on the floor with him, but he's a versatile player with much greater speed and quickness.
I also don't like Thabeet on this team...

If we traded Nick Collison we would need to bring in a guy who can do the things he does. He is very valuable to this team.

Don't think we'd trade Nick, but I'm not sure it'd be worth it to re-sign him when his contract is up. Depending on our draft this year and how others develop.

I don't think teams will offer him the MLE
So dependent on his value around the league I see him staying put

Look what Andy Varejao got.. I mean, if we build on our success next year and Nick is involved he could get a decent deal.
