I honestly think that unless Mike Woodson gets us to the Eastern Conference Finals, he will not be brought back next season. Not the way he's been outcoached in this series.
With an overall losing record in both the regular season and the post-season, and with the way we've lost those post season games, there's no way management can give him a long term deal.
And I can't see Woody settling for another 1 or 2 year deal.
Any ideas for a replacement? Any ideas where Woody might end up?
I could see him coaching in New Orleans next season. But the perfect fit would probably be Indiana, especially since he's from there and is still highly regarded.

I am worried that if be don't bring back woody that JJ will leave. Is the upgrade of woody to another coach worth the downgrade from JJ to whoever is his replacement?

Re: The Tipping Point?
We'll likely just bump Crawford to the starting spot - although I cringe at the backcourt defense if our STARTING rotation has Bibby/Craw.
But Woody is gone if he doesn't at least play somewhat respectably away. We've been the worst away team in the playoffs the past 3 years, and a large part of that is Woody isn't pressing the right buttons to get the team going.
Plus, his in-game subs are mediocre, and we run a gimmick defense.

I say you guys look to trade Bibby. I could be wrong. But age is creeping up on him.

Woodson has to go no matter what. The Hawks are underachieved. That's true even in the regular season. The Hawks allowed 7 LAYUPS in the 3RD QUARTER against the Bucks last night. How in the world a 3rd seed team can play like that in the playoffs is beyond me. S. Skilles has destroyed his reputation.
GO HAWKS.

Just promoting Crawford to starting 2 guard is not really the answer. For ten years he toiled, putting up similar numbers and not once tasting postseason play. A backcourt of BIBBY and Crawford would be catastrophic. Not to say Crawford can't start succssfully on a winning team, but with this roster and the lack of defensive abilities that Bibby and Crawford have shown, the lack of a post presence or a consistent secondary scorer, this is truly an awful idea. There is a reason that he has played for a decade, on four different teams, achieving no success as a team.
I'd rather see Childress come back and start at the 2 spot with J-Crawford coming off the bench. Crawford as a starting SG is just that bad.

It's hard to argue in favor of Woody right now. What just happened the last two games in Milwaukee is completely inexcusable. After three years of this BS you'd think we'd have figured out a way to get in the correct mindset to handle a road playoff game. Obviously some of that falls on the players, but Woody deserves some of the blame as well, and he hasn't fixed the problem after having plenty of time to do so.
