It occurred to me during game 4 that Melo is pretty much T-Mac 2.0. He's got the talent to be a Tier 1 star in the NBA, but he doesn't have "it" - the work ethic/drive/leadership/poise that guys like DWade, LeBron and Kobe have.

i disagree, didn't he drop like 20 pounds this offseason? i think the work ethic and drive is there, but he definitely lacks any thing remotely close to being able to lead a team.

I think you need all four of those things, and he's probably 2/4. I'll give him work ethic and drive. I think T-Mac had poise and maybe drive but certainly not leadership nor work ethic.
