Game 5 Tonite. Let's finish these Mavs off

Post#1 » by co_laper » Tue Apr 27, 2010 1:56 pm

Well, it's at Dallas and they're in a win or go home mode. If there is a game to drop, I think this is it. I personally predict we finish them off in 6 games at home, meaning we lose game 5.

I don't think there's anything drastic they'll do. The only difference if Mavs win this game is because they'll out-hustle us because it's a must win game. They'll make their jumpers because they're at home. If they don't win the hustle stats and Dirk gets no help again, they're done.

Dallas is trying to get gold at the end of the rainbow. They keep chasing it but in reality, they aren't even close.
Dirk should opt out.

Ok Suns fan here in peace.

HOW IN THE HELL IS NAJERA NOT SUSPENDED?????

that was one of the dirtiest take downs I've ever seen in my life. In my opinion he should be tossed the whole playoffs. Easily could've wrecked Ginobili no need for that.

And how does najera get in the game and 30 seconds later he does that. Methinks Mark Cuban had something to do with that.

I've seen worse takedowns.

In itself, it was maybe borderline whether he should get suspended. But the fact that he went in only to do that and could have hurt someone on purpose, especially our broken nose guy, that should have warrented a suspension.

Carlisle practically admitted he sent him in for that reason. And Najera flat out admitted it by saying he didn't like his little ho Dirk getting b-slapped in the face:

Back to the game, beating them 4 in a row and two in a row in their house will be VERY tough.

Unlikely.

I'm hopeful but not counting on it.

Down 46-53 at the half. Caron finds his pulse with 19 first half points. TP 17 points.

Same issues as game 1. Mavs can't miss. Spurs give up offensive boards. Turnovers.

Mason needs to go. I really hope the Spurs don't resign him. Jumpshooting a 3 pointer off a screen? I'm sorry.. You're not that good.

I had high hopes for him when we acquired him last season. He's given us nothing this season. There was a thread on the GB about Bonner being the worst player in the league, heck he's not even the worst on the team. That goes to Mason.

We didn't play with the intensity we had to in this game and were routed. I hope we can show the same amount of energy that Dallas showed last night but game 6 i's gonna be tough, no doubt about that. We have to get Duncan going and hopefully get their bigs in foul trouble. I am confident Manu and Tony will find their game because Dallas has absolutely no idea how to guard them so Timmy is like our X factor.

P.S.: Mason has really been super disappointing, obviously there is no need to re-sign him this summer. I also think we might let Bogans go even though his toughness is a plus. I think one player we should keep is Temple, he has really showed promise and can be the backup point, especially since we will play a lot of Tony and Hill at the same time. Then, draft a perimeter player who can score (regardless whether he is a 3-point specialist or has another way of getting his points) and hopefully bring Splitter over (there have been indications from the organization). For the draft, I was really hoping we could get Da'Sean Butler and watching him go down in that semi-final was almost as painful for me as it was for Bob Huggins. I still think we should probably get him with our 2nd round pick as mocks have him drop this far after that injury, I was really high on the kid...
