Disgusted with the attitude of the fans
Yeah i'm just as disappointed in the showing and results in Milwaukee as the next man but reading some of the garbage from so called Hawks fans is making me sick. The series is tied at 2 and you would have thought the Bucks had swept us.
I just can't figure out this city, you watch the games and it's lame crowd participation with people sitting on their hands and digging up their smelly backsides. What the hell gives?? Support the damn team until submission is all i ask. No wonder they call us some of the worst sports fans in the country.
Yeah their flawed and can't win on the road if their lives were depended upon it but whatever they are it's the best we've had since this decade begin. Want to go back to the Antoine Walker/Tyronne Lue core days?? I thought not.
I'm basically reacting to the the AJC article by Bradley and reading some of the fans comments just has me riled beyond my normal level and i have to rant it out. The comments and the overall garbage was stomach turning. Hawks still win this series in 6.

Re: Disgusted with the attitude of the fans
Is it too much to ask that the team produces consistently, or at the very LEAST, gives consistent effort?
How can you expect consistent support from the fans if you don't yourself give a consistent effort? And yes, I used that same word 4 times, because until Atlanta starts taking every game seriously LIKE IT'S A PLAYOFF GAME, they will not be an elite team. Period.

I understand but gettin blown out in the majority of road losses is warranted.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

Game three we did expect them to come out with at fire and were blown out. Game 4 was just a tough loss... everyone get of the roofs. its going to be ok. we'll get them in 6.

Re: Disgusted with the attitude of the fans
Horrible effort and lack of heart is means to being pissed off. The fans deserve effort and thye didnt give it to us. This is isnt the same team that was playing earlier in the year, and it disturbs a lot of fans im sure.
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

You're barking up the wrong tree. Most of us have been here since the 13/26-win seasons. I've been watching this team grow since that time and for the first time we actually have the talent to make some noise and we are losing games in Milwaukee because we simply can't expend the effort necessary to get the job done. I am sick and tired of it and will not be going to Game 5 as I refuse to spend a dime on a team that has come this far, yet lacks the mental toughness and desire to make themselves into an actual contender.
This is a bad sports town and plenty of people have expressed that sentiment. But to get on the fans that post here for not being supportive is absolutely ridiculous. This is one of the few places I know of where you can get opinions from true fans of the team. We have EVERY reason imaginable to be complaining about what just happened. It's embarrassing to see your team turn into a complete joke when they put on the road uniforms. And this is the third straight season that has happened!

I disagree with the OP. Atlanta isn't a bad sports town because the fans are overly negative...it's a bad sports town because the majority of the people there don't give a **** about the local teams.

It goes hand in hand, Negative fans and people who don't give a damn about the home teams. Their peas in a pod.

^^^ How are they peas in a pod? We spend money on the team and put our hearts into it. Just because we are justifiably negative right now doesn't make us associated with people who don't give a ****.

I feel I've earned the right to be as negative or positive about the Hawks as I want to be. That is all I wanted to say.

Exactly.
Other playoff teams are bouncing back from blowout defeats and we just looked like the New Jersey Nets at Milwaukee.

Re: Disgusted with the attitude of the fans
How do we control how other fans act? It's not our fault if we attend games or support the Hawks, but the majority of the city doesn't. You're using a whole city's reputation to base your judgement of a select group of fans and that's unfair to people that post here. God forbid that people who devote their time following the Hawks and spending money on them for tickets and merchandise be upset over a lack of effort in a playoff game. I've followed this team for a long time, and we've all had to endure the hard times with Lue at PG, or having Antoine Walker as your best player. You shouldn't just be happy to see the team where it is now because of how bad the organization performed the past decade. This team is full of talent unlike the previous teams, and this team has the potential to make a lot of noise, but it is held back by their head coach and lack of heart/hustle. The fact that we're 1-10 over the past 3 years on the road with only one of the losses being competitive(Game 4) is enough to make any fan mad. We all know what this team can do at home, but the fact that they always get embarrassed on the road is a huge problem that Hawk fans have had to deal with for a long time.
Coming into the postseason I wasn't worried about Atlanta at home. Winning game 1 and game 2 was great, but I expected that. I was extremely interested in seeing how the Hawks performed in a tough environment on the road since they have been halted by their road performances over the past couple of seasons. I consider this team to be much more mature and better than last year's team, yet we field the same results on the road. We make the same mistakes, and we just can't seem to grow up in the playoffs and learn how to bring the intensity needed to be successful. Mike Woodson has improved the team W-L wise every season, but his success is more of a product of how the team's main core has stayed intact, and how the younger players have matured. He's proven that he can't make proper adjustments when needed in the playoffs over and over again. If the 41-41 Chicago Bulls who were more than lucky to make the playoffs can go to Cleveland and fight them hard to the very end, then we should be able to do the same vs a much weaker opponent in Milwaukee. It is beyond frustrating, and if you find that as a flaw in judging a fan's character then so be it.

Re: Disgusted with the attitude of the fans
lol@crowd participation
The fans are there, over 19k tonight, and yet the team fails to give the crowd something to cheer about. Now a wounded Bucks team has control of the series and SAUCERY_SWEET you expect us to be completely positive? It's not even negative when the reality is our Hawks have been underachieving so far during the playoffs.
What about the workers at the arena? I know roughly 20 or more people that work at the arena who expect us to get past the Bucks so they can continue to make a paycheck. The ownership needs all the money they can get to keep us competitive and to pay a new Coach for next season.
I guess you like the fact that the ajc takes the nice approach with this team. I hope I wake-up to an article on the ajc tomorrow that blast the Hawks.

This team is lucky they play in a ****** sports town like Atlanta. This wouldn't be tolerated in a city where the fans and ownership had championship standards.

you have good team and you say about championship standards, i say championship standards no one has. very small percentage of team have championship rings on fingers. so, as a fan, i very happy with good playoff team and win champion is good bonus if happen.

Re: Disgusted with the attitude of the fans
I agree with a lot of you, that implosion last night was enough to make even the most positive fan lose his mind. I can't defend that but i still think the Hawks will bring this back to Atlanta on Sunday, i'm just like that with my teams. I'm probably positive to a fault, i fight to the bitter end. That's the way i am in life period. And it's tough reading all the really bad negativity from the fans but in retrospect it looked like the majority of those comments were from non Hawks fans and Buck fans so i apologize if it seemed like i was calling out all Hawks fans.
But i still can't allow myself to give up on this team when they have a fighter's chance.

This team is a joke and I can't spend anymore money on them going to games. I'm still completely stunned it's came to this and we are about to lose to the frigging Bucks who are the worst team in the playoffs BTW. Only good thing coming out of losing this series in epic fashion is that Woodson is almost certainly gone so we can get a real coach in here with a gameplan. NO WAY we win tomorrow at Milwaukee. The Bradley Center will be rocking like crazy and our Hawks are just too mentally weak and will just wilt under the pressure. Book it! We'll lose by at least 10pts probably more.
