Gregg didn't know there was 2 outs...that might have had something to do with it.

Snider continues to make good contact, which is promising. Needs to quit taking huge hacks at stuff that's down and out of the zone, though.

Gregg walking in the winning run was embarrassing.

Our offense was MORE embarrassing, but somewhat understandable given the offensive output of the night before... Boston didn't really do much better, either. Buchholz was nasty.

Marcum looked good; I'm glad he got a no-decision instead of a loss. He pitched pretty damn well. Scott Downs, however, did not. Ugh. I pine for Dave Duncan...

Both Lind and Snider sit against Lester while Overbay still remains in the lineup.

Cito is truly an idiot. My god...

Sitting Snider makes sense. Lind makes sense only if Cito thought that he needed rest...he hit .275/.318/.461 against lefties last year. Not spectacular, but a fair deal better than Overbay's .190/.256/.278.

A sign that your team is rebuilding: I'm watching the game intently when Cecil is pitching, and I'm frantically refreshing the box score for the Dunedin game when the Jays are hitting,

That's exactly what I am doing. With Snider and Lind out of the lineup, there's really no reason to watch this pathetic offense.

im afraid that that romero, cecil and marcum will pitch flawlessly and not get run support and just get pissed off and sign with another team.

not every player is loyal like halladay...

Doesn't matter how bad the big club gets, I can never get myself to care about the minor league teams. Way too Batters Box for me. I will definitely prospectbate, though.

I loved how once Boston made it 1-0 you knew this game was over... Man if we ever have to face Lester again, it's too soon. He owns us...

On a side note, Tabler was pretty annoying this series. His whole "Teams that scrap and claw like the red sox, and the blue jays..." yea scrap like the blue jays... Well 1-0, this game's over... Shutup Tabler...

What Cecil has done vs. TB and BOS has been pretty impressive.

It was fun to watch the pitching duel. Lester was nasty... just as was Buchholz the night before. Cecil pitched well, too. We all knew he wasn't ready to be a 7-, 8-inning pitcher this year, he just doesn't have the stamina yet. It was great to see 6 strong innings from him, he was really good. Janssen continued the trend of our 'pen screwing things up and our offense just died.

When the lefty you're facing has an 88 mph changeup and that's considered to have good separation from his heater, you know you're in for a rough night, especially with THIS lineup. I like that Cito bothered to put Lind and Lewis into the game at the end, that was at least a stab at trying to win. No one came through, and we only had a handful of baserunners on all game, which is no way to win.

Ah well. It's a little sacrilegious, but I did enjoy watching Lester's performance.
