The Phoenix Board Graphic Design Thread

Okay okay, I know there's already a Graphic Design section of RealGM. But since a few here work with this type of stuff I thought it would be cool to have a place to showcase your stuff and for each other's input, feedback, advice, etc.

Feel free to share whatever you make, and post a link if the size is too big. And then whoever has some can leave feedback.

Non-Suns fans are welcome to share and/or give feedback too...

I'm pretty new with Photoshop, Fireworks etc. I decided to let animation/video take a backseat for now since I need to get better at Photoshop itself.

Here's a desktop background I put together, since I'm new with a lot of the techniques it took a lot of time and likely has plenty of imperfections. But hey, you gotta start somewhere!

Wow nice! I like the texture on the background and the lighting/color effects are top notch

Well, my crowning achievement was when our resident Grant Hill stalker inspired me to create this, when Grant Hill came to Phoenix to revive his career:

Grant Hill wallpaper

He also got a signature image:

That desktop led to the creation of my first FreeThrow cover, which is the game-day booklet that they give away at every game:



You can see that this is a better Photoshop job than the wallpaper if you look carefully. Which led to finding this in the mail:



Later on, when I went to visit the Suns media staff during Destination Phoenix '09, I found out that most of the Phoenix Suns' staff used my wallpaper on their work PCs. It took a great deal of self-control not to squeal like a damned little girl.

You see, Destination Phoenix was a pretty big deal:

And here's some of the other FreeThrow designs I made. I sent in the Strawberry and Matrix one, but they didn't get picked (I think partly because I'd just had one published, and because they suspected Marion and Strawberry were on the way out). I'm still proud of the Gravity Optional one; it was a great block.

Yeah, I had hoped to make more like that but started working two jobs, and now I work full-time, plus we just got a new house (those who've been in TinyChat know I've been painting parts of it at inopportune times!), have a couple of albums in the works .... and not enough energy or time

I still have that Free Throw up on my shelf, how I am VERY disappointed that you never sent me the signed copy.

The sig you made me as well as the desk top are still on my pc and I occasionally rock the GH desk top. Funniest thing about the Sig, was SDU was getting in trouble for having nuts in his avatar but I never got in trouble for the Sig.......but then again, I don't post anywhere other than the Suns forum so maybe I wasn't drawing attention to myself.

Finally, I do believe you owe me for getting your creative juices flowing............a signed copy of Free Throw by Grant Hill would just about do the trick and we could call it even.

OK, 2 things.

1. Im currently working on a Suns Playoffs Update-able Sig.

2.Now that i see others making video sigs, and having difficulties with the GIF's, I will try to post more Suns related GIF's for others to use. Here is 3 from Game 5.
