I'm curious to see what you guys think things will look like in the west next year. As teams start getting eliminated players start considering the future (see Dirk's comments tonight), especially with teams that consistently under-achieve.
I doubt Dirk leaves the Mavs, but I do think there is the potential for a major change somewhere in the west. I think if the Jazz do eliminate the Nuggs there is the potential for the Nuggs to make a significant move. Houston should have Yao back and are interested in Chris Bosh. I doubt that happens either, but you never know. If the Lakers fail to get out of the west, I can see them going after a big name this summer. Phoenix could lose Amare. There are too many big names available this summer for teams to pass on.
Along with the rest of the west, the Jazz have a lot to consider. Boozer, Korver, and Matthews are all expiring. Money is going to be tight but I have to believe that Greg Miller is going to put up enough money to keep us in the top half of the league. The Jazz FO have a lot of work ahead of them. This summer will really show if KOC is right for this organization or if he is going to sit back and wait until it's too late.

This summer will probably be a lot like the last few, nothing much to speak of. The following summer, with AK coming off the books should be KOC's real judgment year.

Really the driving force behind any moves which are or are not made is the willingness of Greg Miller to spend the money required to be competitive; a topic currently open to question. We'll certainly discover this summer what his make-up is as an owner.

I actually came here to congratulate you guys on the series. But after seeing the Congratulations Denver Nuggets thread... and it's not even locked... I guess all I can say is...
It's too early to talk about next year, but one thing that I'm definitely 10000% **** sure is: Utah will not be so lucky to get a team whose coach is down to cancer...
Right now I kinda want the Lakers to beat y' all so you all can shut up... and Lakers are my most hated team, it's not even close to the 2nd most hated team.

You'll probably get your wish.
Just the same , it's been really pathetic how you and other buttnuggets have been such pansies about us puttin' an ass whoopin' on Y'all.
Despite the fact we've had two starters out, all you sissies want to cry about is your coach being out, and how the refs arn't carrying Melo's jock for him. Hell, even Melo has been somewhat of a man about it, which is more than I can say for little girls who post their crybaby complaints every 2 minutes on each and every forum she can find.
Melo is a stud. Nug fans, however, should hang their heads in shame.
P.S. Go ahead Corona, chalk another one up for me. I said what I had to say.

Free agency will play a big role for a lot of teams so it's hard to say.
I fully expect OKC to have issues since every young up and coming team has a down season after their break out year. Lakers will probably stay the same or get worse. The bottom feeders will probably stay the same unless some trades are made or the draft produces some super stars. Portland should be a top team if they reamin healthy. The Houston Rockets are one of the biggest question marks, I have no idea where they will end up. The Nuggets will have a terrible season with no Karl and with the rumors of Melo heading to NY after the season is over. Spurs will be just about finished, they looked old this year and are only going to be older. The rest of the teams are hard to judge on until after the off season.
