woo hoo. sports to look forward to. only a month and a half to go.

optimistic bout advancing out of the group but a lot will depend on how our injured players recover.

Yep, I follow Charlie D on twitter and he just scored his 1st goal in training. I really REALLY hope he can get back to form.

Donk. I love you man. Thanks for starting this thread... Reminds me after the captastrophe that there is something to look forward to.... Down with the mods... No locking this thread... The revolution will not be televised.

Incidentally, regarding the world cup & the usa's chances... Who the heck knows? This team is hard to predict... In terms of technical ability it's the worst group in two decades... But they are fighters and have seemed to find a style (counterattacking and opportunistic) that seems to fit. If davies can play and find his form that would be huge... Not just because he's tough to mark but also because both ching and Casey are unspeakably useless.

USA wont win the whole thing, but they can win thier group... I know for a fact that will at least finish second...

There are to many power houses, and Brazil, Argentina,England, Spain, and Germany all look as strong as ever.. But it will be any interesting World Cup

Im picking Brazil...Ronaldinho, Maicon, Pato, Adriano, to lead the Selecao to glory..

Stop hating on the jerseys, they're a tribute/throwback to the US team that beat England before.

I think the USA will be lucky to progress to the next round - may come down to goal difference if the US can get a result against Algeria:

England - 9 points as I figure they'll win all 3 matches.
Slovenia - 4 points: Algeria (win) USA (draw) England (loss)
USA - 2 points: England (loss) Slovenia (draw) Algeria (draw)
Algeria - 1 point: Slovenia (loss) England (loss) USA (draw)

Slovenia have beaten some good teams and I believe a little underrated. It will be an interesting fight for second.

well considering the lack of a left back, a pedestrian and predictable coach, the devastating injuries to our back and front lines and the worrisome potential inclusion of damarcus bealey we'll be lucky to get out of a group with the best team in european qualifying and a historical power (who will have somewhat of a homefield advantage).

but im looking forward to some classic english overconfidence and strong tourettes fueled goalkeeping.

Algeria is pretty tough, they may end up really surprising some people...

I think we found our new Wizards jerseys! Get Teddy Ballgame on the phone...

With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

Problem is, most of the other non B-ball forums are dead...

We're inside the Wizards forum during May. How much more banished can this thread get?
