While I don't disagree with the sentiment in theory, how exactly do you plan on getting Smith?

I might get flamed from both sides on this one, but maybe something centered around Terrence Williams and future picks?
If not, maybe something in a 3 or 4 team deal for Devin?

I was talking the lottery pick, so we could draft Cousins or Favors to take up the Horford absence.

Which is why in the initial response, I wished Horford continued luck in Atlanta.

Horford's a very good player, but he's not worth a Cousins/Favors plus Harris.

If you're trading a top 4 pick and a 27-year-old PG a year removed from the all-star game, it has to be a true franchise-caliber player coming back. As good as Horford is, he isn't close to that.

Devils, would you trade the #4 pick straight up for Horford?

I would. One big caveat though that should be mentioned with such a Horford trade. Since he is a RFA next summer, the "saving cap space for 2011" idea is no longer feasible.

I would too.
If we don't spend this year, his extension status wouldn't effect things too adversly.
