im not holding my breath for that
the pen is shot at the moment, just lost the starting CF....arod and tex need to start producing
kinda ironic the 2 replacements we brought in was to get younger, and both of them have been injured this year, go figure
Injuries aren't a product of age, they happen. Phil Hughes had injuries when he was 20 and he seems fine now. Joba had injuries in college and has been perfect since. Should we have cut those two when they had injuries? Seriously, we're 15-7 and all you're doing is complaining.

I didn't realize today's date was September 30th.
Was Cashman a fail when last April ended and Tex and CC were sucking?

Hughes and Cano = Beasts
Looks like Tex is swinging the bat much better, and A-rod will come around. If Tex, A-Rod, and Cano all get hot together this offense will be unstoppable. And it's still early on Johnson, he will turn it around eventually too. He can't stay in this slump all year.

I would love to see how Pharmcat would react now (with their early success) had Cashman pulled the trigger on the Hughes/Cano for Santana trade a few years ago lol.

Another series win.
1.5 behind those damn Rays.
One guy holding this team back right now, Vasquez.....
He can't stay this horrible all season can he?

I guess Cashman's ego (whatever that means) didn't come into play during that deal?

all you have to do is go on page 2 of this board, and that thread is about 3 lines down of me praising cashman as the best non-move....do some research next time

Fine

Still though, don't you think its unfair to judge any move after a month? Like I said, people hated Tex last May 1st and then he led the AL in home runs by the end of the year. CC was miserable last April, then untouchable the rest of the year and the postseason. Every move made this offseason looked great on paper (except letting Damon walk), so what does any ego have to do with it? Sometimes moves just don't go as planned, egos aside.
If Cashman had an ego, wouldn't he want to KEEP Austin Jackson and prove that he made the right draft choice and that the organization developed him properly? If anything, Cashman's ego got in the way of the Johan trade because he didn't want to give up Hughes and look how that worked out. Hughes was vital to our WS as the setup man and has developed into a stud in the rotation right before our eyes.

Biggest difference I see in him is that he isn't swinging at bad pitches and taking himself out of hitters counts.
