All of his moves have been flops to this point, but the team is still 15-7. That's saying something. Once Granderson, Johnson, Vasquez actually perform the way they should (or at least better then they are now), this is going to be a tough team to keep down.

kinda ironic the 2 replacements we brought in was to get younger, and both of them have been injured this year, go figure

Injuries aren't a product of age, they happen. Phil Hughes had injuries when he was 20 and he seems fine now. Joba had injuries in college and has been perfect since. Should we have cut those two when they had injuries? Seriously, we're 15-7 and all you're doing is complaining.

Hughes and Cano = Beasts

Looks like Tex is swinging the bat much better, and A-rod will come around. If Tex, A-Rod, and Cano all get hot together this offense will be unstoppable. And it's still early on Johnson, he will turn it around eventually too. He can't stay in this slump all year.

yea, the kid is looking like a solid starter and better yet, is showing ace type stuff.. I saw him hit the gun at 95 when he was close to 100 pitches... kid is good..

Still though, don't you think its unfair to judge any move after a month? Like I said, people hated Tex last May 1st and then he led the AL in home runs by the end of the year. CC was miserable last April, then untouchable the rest of the year and the postseason. Every move made this offseason looked great on paper (except letting Damon walk), so what does any ego have to do with it? Sometimes moves just don't go as planned, egos aside.

If Cashman had an ego, wouldn't he want to KEEP Austin Jackson and prove that he made the right draft choice and that the organization developed him properly? If anything, Cashman's ego got in the way of the Johan trade because he didn't want to give up Hughes and look how that worked out. Hughes was vital to our WS as the setup man and has developed into a stud in the rotation right before our eyes.

Biggest difference I see in him is that he isn't swinging at bad pitches and taking himself out of hitters counts.
