Re: trade idea
2 problems:
- Boozer will be a free agent so can't be sign/traded until after July 1st or something like that.
- You are WAY overvaluing the #3 to expect to get the #9, CJ Miles, AND Boozer. You do realize that is 2 players from our starting lineup...just to move up 6 spots...

Re: trade idea
The Kings don't even have the 3rd pick yet and the Jazz don't have the 9th.
In fact, the Kings have much greater odds (84%) of landing something OTHER than the 3rd pick.
If you land the 2nd pick or better then we'll talk.

Re: trade idea
A #1 pick won't be even remotely close to a package of Boozer + CJ + the 9th pick. Throw in Tyreke and you might get our attention.

I didn't say we'd say yes, I said we'd talk. In this draft I'm not sure it's worth a whole lot to trade up from 9th to 3rd, especially for the Jazz.
But I would consider parting with some pieces to move up to 2nd or 1st.

Are you **** kidding me??? 3rd means guarantees Turner / Cousins / Favors / or Wesley Johnson. I think we would do this in a heartbeat. Check out ESPNS research on the draft, 1-5 are safe bets at being good players, whereas 6-10 is a crapshoot.
This trade does not work at all under the CBA though. Boozer would have to be resigned at 14 mil or so, + CJ = 17-18 mil shipping out. 3rd pick is worth 3.4 mil, so cancels out CJ. We would have to take back Nocioni (7.5 mil + a creative third team or extra salary from the kings). This means the front office would never do this probably (for either team), but its NO BRAINER from a competitiveness standpoint.
The Jazz would be really good / contenders ---- they get the best or 2nd best center in the draft, or a can't miss wing prospect in evan turner, who can play 3 positions, great handles, decision making, and scoring.
Option #1 ---- franchise center = frontcourt that plays really good defense (especially without boozer).
Dwill / Price
Wesley Matthews / Korver
AK / Nocioni + Trash from Kings deal
Millsap / Cousins / AK
Cousins / Okur
Option #2 ---- best backcourt in the west
Dwill / Price
Wesley / Korver
Turner / AK
Millsap / AK
Okur / Fesenko
Jazz should definitely do this, as we're probably gonna get nothing for boozer, and the #9 pick is a crap shoot (Unathletic Greg Monroe? Risky project hassan whiteside? Unathletic center with limited upside Cole Aldrich? While I like these guys for a chance they will be contributors, the #3 pick is almost a sure deal, at the cost of a mediocre guard in CJ, and a PF we're probably losing anyways).

3rd means guaranteed shot at Cousins/Favors/Wesley Johnson. Evan Turner won't be there.
Names like Derrick Coleman and Tyrus Thomas are what keep me from wanting to trade assets to move up to get Cousins or Favors.

Re: trade idea
CJ has made me a believer during the playoffs. Him shooting better would be nice, but at this point I wouldn't want to include him in a package to move up. Plus, Sacramento has Carl Landry and Jason Thompson at power forward already, plus Hawes at center. Maybe we S+T Boozer for some combination of those players and a filler, but other than that I don't see much happening between Utah and Sacramento (actually I don't see anything happening between us).

How about #19 and Perkins for #9 and CJ Miles?
You can solve your problem everytime you meet LA

You'd have to take some of our salary for us to send that pick.

Even Perkins is short against LA, and isn't that great of a C fundamentally. No thanks.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

Yea, but Kendrick is 280. He messes up dwight on the regular. He clearly can dominate bynum, and help on Gasol to some extent.
Having said that, I wouldnt give up the #9 for him. He's 25, and does have any more upside. i would trade CJ / most anything else for him too that wasnt matthews / millsap / deron. I dont think the celts would ever do this though.

"No matter what sort of formula you use, the stat geeks love Cousins. He's coming out on top in every analysis (of course so did Michael Beasley two years ago). When you take a closer look at his per-minute numbers, it's not hard to see why. If his background checks and psychological testing come out OK, he's got a real shot to go No. 2." ---- ESPN Draft Blog
I agree turner will probably go 2nd, but there is still a good chance demarcus goes there. It depends on the team with the 2nd pick, turner at 2 isn't set in stone.
Sure, there are historically busts with big men. But both those prospects look like likely starters in the NBA, both Tyrus and Coleman were still useful. Coleman was 20/10 for awhile before injuries derailed him, and I would still love to see Tyrus play for the jazz given our need for defense.
Favors is also 25 lbs bigger than Tyrus, and probably a better finisher at the rim already. Cousins was ultra efficient, he's really strong, showed he can be a great finisher around the rim, and only 19. Bust potential? Sure, true of any big man. Worth the risk? Yes.

Re: trade idea
Celts fan here. First off Perkins absolutely helps against the Lakers as he can practically neutralize either Gasol or Bynum. His offense is terrible by all accounts (he seems to have regressed from earlier in the season when he was leading the league in fg%) but he's young and cheap. Would a resigned Perkins (to make the numbers work) and Sheed for AK47 + 9 work for you guys?
