Isn't this like a very weak safety draft?

I'm leaning towards WR right now. I think I flip between positions every day but I think the O-Line can be addressed through free agency and in the later rounds of the draft. The Bears need playmakers and this is the best opportunity they'll have to get one. I like Limas Sweed and DeSean Jackson in that order.

I hope Berrian stays. He isn't great but I think he'd look much, much better with a consistent QB. Even with playing with 3 below average QBs, with a crap offensive line, no running game, and a terrible OC, he still caught 71 for 951. He dropped a lot of balls early but played well later in the season.

But it all matters on the money he wants. If he wants elite WR money, then I say get the hell out.

I'm fine with keeping this same WR group going into next year, except for someone to replace Moose. Keep him as a #3 or #4 so he can get his 10000 yards, though.

I don't want to use any high picks on the defense, except if its for a safety, but I don't see any I really like.

Yes but I'm hoping on Kenny Phillips, though he will probably be drafted by then.
I forgot to mention the offensive line is our first need.

The more I think about it, the more I think we should take Matt Ryan or Andre Woodson in the first round if they are avaliable. Otherwise, take an offensive lineman.

Does anyone think we possibly maybe be able to take say Colt Brennan in the second round after his dismal showing in the Sugar Bowl?

And

Does anyone have confidence in Mcgowan? I think he's quite capable of holding his own for the safety position.

I would rather take John David Booty than Colt in the 2nd round.

If the Bears get a running back + and offensive line and a decent coordinator Rex Grossman will get the job done. IMO the OC is the worst followed by the O line.

Alright this is what I hope the draft kind of goes:

1st round pick: OT Ryan Clady from Boise State
2nd round pick: WR Lima Sweed from Texas
3rd round pick: SS Jamar Adams from Michigan
4th round pick: FB Owen Schmitt.

That's just me though.

on the score a caller asked the hosts if they would be willing to trade hester for the #7 overall pick. doug buffone said not a chance, hub arkish said he would do it in a heartbeat.

not a chance i would do it. the bears offense has been bad for decades, it won't change with one pick. hester is the best weapon, and you don't trade away your best weapon.

After that I would have to say RB,S,QB in the first

I'd go RB and make it a full out competition. Benson's lack of balance and inability to break out for big runs has killed this team and he's had enough chances.

Offensive linemen can be had after the first round but I'd take Jake Long in a heartbeat if he was still around (which he won't be). Safety is a big concern - it's pretty much public knowledge that if an opposing running back gets beyond the linebackers they are GONE. Our safeties take terrible lines - McGowan has shown me he's clearly not the answer. As someone previously said, though, this is a weak safety draft.

phillips is looking like he could very possibly still be there for the bears' pick; if he is i'd probably go with him

if not, go with the best o-lineman

woodson might fall into the second round. i don't like him that much (sloooooow release), but if he does drop like that you'd have to pick him on potential alone
