"Paxson intervention", what is that referring to?

Chicago management now using local mouthpiece to write that only because of Paxson's "intervention" did Derrick Rose "flourish." Incredible.

woj is seriously being a hater on the bulls. i feel bad for vinny too but dont sit there and act like the bulls did vinny so wrong. he was getting paid millions of dollar and that maybe just maybe the vice president of the team and the gm could have had an impact into rose stepping up and playing better. i mean did vinny blow him or something. does he forget that vinny was the guy who was benching rose in the 4th quarter last year and pax had to tell him to play him.

Funny vid by Rerisen...lol.

I hope the next coach sticks with the team for a while. This team needs some stability from the coaching position. How could you trade away your top scorer, and blame it on the coach for not being able to score enough points to win games? In hindsight the Bulls could have played Joakim Noah through the foot injury, that would've given the Bulls enough wins to secure a 6th or 7th seed. But, let's face it. Kirk Hinrich, and Luol Deng were M.I.A. most of the year. Right after they received those contracts, and Derrick Rose arrived, those two seemed to disappear. Strange, but true.
I had hoped that VDN would've rode James Johnson harder to become a better player. Maybe he tried, and JJ just went blank. I don't know, but the Bulls really could've used his play at times during the season He was often too busy cheering on the bench. Vinnie had to deal with often injured/often disgruntled Tyrus Thomas. All this kid needed was an offensive game. No coach in the world could wait long enough for that to happen. But he handle the situation w/ Tyrus well. The Bulls were looking like rebounding/defensive phenoms with Noah (5) Gibson (4) and Ty (3) spots.. The trouble was Tyrus was an offensive liability. Teams didn't respect his shooting, and would pack it in on defense. You're only as good as you're weakest link/ Ty was the weakest link. :-) Anyway; for all that he wasn't he still could've been a key contributor to this team. no way would I have let him go. And the Bulls replace him with a skinner, older version of Tyrus in Hakeem Warrick. I don't get it. Now they have cleared up salary cap space for free agency. The trouble is in order to obtain one of the top tier free agents, the Bulls now have to do a sign and trade with the teams. This sucks.!
I really don't know of too many coaches who could've willed this team to a .500 record. Given all that the players had to go thru this yr. Vinnie will eventually coach again. Maybe in Philly who knows, but he will be missed.. Best of luck to VDN, and Here's to a Better coach stepping into your footsteps and the Head Coach of the Chicago Bulls.

This could get saucy.

I don't think Vinny really needs to stay mum to have prospects at another gig. Or he could just do more leaking.

WTF VDN

"Incredible" only to those who don't totally know how the Bulls do it, smearing guys once they are out the door via media mouthpieces (something that people laughed at me for claiming before - well, here's your proof, those of you who think management could in no way possibly do such a thing). Class is not team JR's strong suit.

Vinny Del Negro out as Bulls head coach.

http://cbs2chicago.com/breakingnewsaler ... 72408.html

The Vinny Del Negro death watch has come to its inevitable conclusion.

Sources tell CBS 2 Del Negro has in fact been fired as the Bulls head coach after two seasons, following meetings with owner Jerry Reinsdorf and other front-office members over the past few days.

I do know that, we've seen it with our players, but I don't see Wojo being one who would smear. Perhaps his source could. But Wojo is my favorite (IMO most reliable) reporter out there for NBA news.

Woj only writes negative stuff and exposeé's. He's industry standard for what he does, but everything has a slant.

No no, I'm not talking about Woj. Hell, he should win a pulitzer for this investigative sports journalism! I'm talking about him finally confirming what many have suspected all along, that the Bulls do have mouthpieces in the media, and Melissa Isaacson is mouthpiece #1, for many years now. Obviously, Isaacson would be the one I'm referring to doing the smearing in this case - here is the piece Woj just referenced:

At the same time, there were those who said it was only because of Paxson's intervention that Rose was able to flourish after being held out of critical parts of the game by Del Negro.

http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nba/n ... id=5159051

I mean really, coming out today and saying that if it wasn't for Paxson "intervening", Rose wouldn't have flourished???? Meaning that VDN wasn't letting him flourish.

Or so this now-confirmed mouthpiece aka Ms. Isaacson says ;)

I like Woj. But he used to follow me on Twitter. And now he doesn't. I consider this an unforgivable error, so he's dead to me now.

woj is obviously just running his mouth to run his mouth. Del Negro's troubling habit of sitting rose late in games last year was not only stupid, it was hurting the single most important thing: Rose's development.

I have no doubt that Paxson said, "Hey VDN, play Rose please", maybe not so kindly.

That said, I have mild faith that the Bulls hire a coach with experience. Still hoping for Laimbeer but it's just a dream.

Woj running his mouth? How about the Bulls org using a mouthpiece to smear their just-fired coach on his way out, by bringing something up from last year?

Why shouldn't the Bulls try and push some good PR about themselves? Isn't that what PR departments are for? I'm not cool with team executives just lying in the press, but "leaking" the stories they want leaked is a standard and inevitable practice performed by every team. It's shameless, but so is PR.
