Holy **** at the Mets/Cardinals game. Top of the 20th inning and Mets are up 2-1.

The Mets can only muster 2 runs in 3 innings (on 2 sac flys) against Joe Mather and Felipe Lopez.

Re: Opening Week Thread
I was shocked that Fox kept the game on.
I had turned it off in the 11th, and later my wife told me the game was in the 19th.
Wow.

Heyward is the truth. 20 years old and already the clutchest hitter on the planet.

Yeah? Well, Madison Bumgarner didn't suck in his last AAA start.

Brewers sweep the Pirates and outscore them 36-1 in the series. Including 20-0 today.

Pretty efficient too, as they only racked up 25 hits.
Ouch.

Re: Opening Week Thread
Ubaldo Jimenez deserves some love for what he's doing. 4-0 with an ERA under 1.00. I think this guy has a really good shot to be in the conversation for Cy Young. Not sure he'll get it in the end with Halladay in the NL now in addition to Lincecum and the St. Louis guys, but he's going to be in the running.

K's won't be a big problem for him in the future. He's just a 20 year old getting a feel for the game. He does have HRs and RBIs figured out though. Rocketing the ball to every part of the field. He has answered both of his little slumps in impressive fashion.
If he slumps (and in turn the Braves) after this post then I'm never posting about him again.

He's been filthy tonight. He's hit 100 mph 7 times tonight through 2 innings.

Yeah. Career high 13 K's. Adrian Gonzalez sees the guy plenty playing in the same division, and he looked absolutely lost on three straight strikeouts. He's carrying the Rockies, with 3 of the other four starters on the DL currently.

He's certainly helping my fantasy team. My pitching is pretty delicious right now.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

Must be true, if it's a rumor you read on Hoopshype.
