Y'all's first pick - as long as it's not the 1st overall obviously - Although folks are down on Hasheem, don't think the Grizz are just giving him away...

Agreed. I doubt the Grizzlies are ready to just give away what Thabeet could potentially become, no matter how awful he was this year. If they trade him, they better be getting something of equal value in return. The Kings' pick would be more than enough. Jason Thompson could suffice as well.

Right now I wouldn't give Thabeet away (unless we could get a top 5 pick). Lets give him some time to work with.

In the trade thread I commented I would take Jason Thompson. I think the guy could step in and contribute significantly next season if they find a role for him like the Lakers do for Lamar Odom while Thabeet is better suited for a long term building team like the Kings. Memphis' goal should be for the now. They have put their young pieces in place, brought in a still young veteran in Randolph, and need to add those couple of key components for today, not for down the road. Thompson would provide that while Thabeet is at least two years away from impacting.

Obviously if the Grizzlies didn't have Gasol I would be thinking differently.

No. Thatbeet is raw..and boarderline bust. But while he was in the D-league people saw what he averaged. I cant remeber right now, but it was good stats. Alot of teams or better yet posters are willing to gamble on him. Because lets face it, the Center position is looking real **** as of late.
