Lebron for Durant and Westbrook

Post#1 » by bucks59 » Thu May 6, 2010 1:58 am

So, I got into an argument with a friend and I thought this would be the best way to settle it. This is all a hypothetical and not an established rumor.

Lebron re-signs with the Cavs this offseason for a max contract for the maximum number of years. If the Thunder then offered both Durant and Westbrook for Lebron, would you do the trade? Assume that both Durant and Westbrook will re-sign with the Cavs for fair market value when their rookie contracts run up. Thanks.

I have 3 strikes against me. I can't stand Lebron. I'm from the DMV so I love Durant. And I'm trolling. And I even wouldn't make that deal. Is it way lopsided? Maybe not, but I'd pass.

I'm a Magic fan, and If I were the Cavs I would never make that deal.

LeBron is one of those players who you would NEVER EVER trade despite what you're offered. Same with Dwight, Wade, now Durant, etc.

Superstars who have no issues with the team should and will never be traded.

As a Magic fan i would do this trade. Durant is younger and already has the scoring title (youngest player to do that). plus he's already more mature than LeBron. and then you throw Westbrook in and you have finally have a true point guard.

Just looking at the responses, I knew that the people answering the polls were not Cavs fans.

Of caurse not!LeBron has GOAT potential..Durant or Westbrook aren't nowhere to this......
Give me LeBron with any player of NBDL over Durant+Westbrook...
Don't compare the King to anyone..He is in a class by himself!

Never ever. I wouldn't trade LeBron for Durant and a clone of Durant.

Why would OKC even consider that?

In three years Durant may be considered a better player than LeBron and they have to give up Westbrook too? Not to mention the downside of LeBron dominating the ball and undermining any offensive flow not going directly through him.

Players like Durant and LeBron have more value to their respective teams. Would Chicago have considered trading Jordan for Stockton and Malone?...
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Boston Fan here......while i absolutely agree that Lebron is a freak and in league of his own....Please do not dismiss that Durant is a phenomenal player. I'm not going to post any of my feelings here about the trade because if you ask me....right now it's not a fair trade but 2 to 3 years from now...it's a fair if not lopsided the other way.

Honestly Durant is going to be a special player......more special than people think.....oh yeah it helps that he's a marksman and can explode to the rim. That combination doesn't come around that often.

Durant will be the best player in the NBA in 4 to 5 years. I say that not because I don't think Lebron still can't be the best player but his body is taking a beating every year. He's still young and again he's a freak but his body can only take so much punishment and contact....can he rely on his jumpshot on a consistent basis in 5 years the same way Durant will be able to?

This is a joke!No chance.Durant is like the New Gervin..So how the hell a player with "Gervin's potential" will be better than a player with GOAT potential...
Have you ever watched great players?Durant isn't a top-15 talent ever. Not even close!
Only an idiot/LeBron hater like Kenny Smith could say that Durant will be better than LeBron.
Wake up and don't say stupid things.

Stop it KINGJAMES, you sound like a clown. People have opinions and so be it. As for the question, I wouldnt at this point but ask me in another 3 years or so and I might have a different answer.

lol jordan for stockton and malone isn't fair either, that's a whole alot of better deal.. you got one of best pure PG's to ever play (can't really compare to magic), and you got best PF to play the game up until that point (overtaken by duncan).

Durant is a great and will be mvp once lebron run's over, but he's no malone, and you got westbrook who is hardly top 10 PG in the game TODAY.

People always used to say Iverson wouldn't past his mid 20's cause all the beatings he had. You gotta remember Lebron played football and is used to 300lbs hittin him. But if I was OKC I wouldn't consider that trade. That would be stupid cause Durant is nasty and like others said, he will be the face of the NBA soon.

The Durant hype is getting a bit ridiculous. I like the kid but he has a LONG way to go before he is on Lebron's level. Not a chance I'd make that deal unless Lebron was definitely walking and that's the best value we could salvage.
