I Hate Josh Smith

Post#1 » by Jamaaliver » Fri May 7, 2010 2:45 am

I always have, really. Not the person, even if he is a knucklehead. I hate his game. His attitude. his skill set. When we drafted Al Horford, I saw everything in Al that I didn't see in Smith. Consistency, passion, hard work, high BBall IQ.

Smith can fill up a stat sheet, but he can't win. He makes poor decisions at crucial times. He is a GREAT shotblocker, no doubt. But he' an average defensive player. He isn't quick enough to guard the wing. Not strong enough to guard the post. He's an adequate rebounder.

He can't shoot. And if he makes a shot, he takes it as carte blanche to shoot a lot. He can dunk. Hard. But if the other team actually guards him and prevents him from alley oops and offensive putbacks....that's pretty much all he can do.

I just...hate watching him play. He's so boneheaded. Tonight we saw how down he gets and lackadaisical he is. And this was a close game for 3 quarters. I want him to go.

Losing happens. But quitting. Not getting up the court. Standing on the wing for a three with your foot out of bounds. Ugh. I'm done with this.

Smith played awful tonight...but I think he can bounce back.

I know he only played 14 minutes...but it just annoys the crap out of me to see Bibby have these useless games while guys like Nelson and Jennings are going off on us. It doesn't help that we run all these Crawford/Joe isolations but Bibby couldn't put pressure on the defense in any system.

Smith is far from being the greatest of our problems. What about Joe who has decided he is required to dribble on the perimeter for 15 seconds a possession?

he straight up embarrassed himself last night. You would think he was a little kid in Kindergarden who's teacher wouldnt let him drink his apple box juice. It was pretty pathetic to watch.
why was hakeem called "the dream"??"

Because it rhymes with 'Olajuwon'.

Raps fan. I wanted your team to go far. But I knew you weren't gonna go far when you guys barely.. and i mean it, got by Milwaukee. I was a little Nervous. Something needs to be done at the PG position. Something needs to be done with JJ ( omg dose he dribble and slow down ball movement) and Josh Smith needs to bring it every game. I personally hate his skill set, but love the dunks. Honestly Orlando is a hard match-up and they create a lot of issues for your team.

As a Magic fan, I actually think Josh Smith is having the best series of any Hawk. He is the only guy playing agressive and attacking the rim.

^^^ Thank you, cammo. It is unbelievable to hear the calling for Smoove's head. He had too many turnovers last night, yes. But on the whole, he has been the ONLY guy attacking and bringing it for the entire playoffs.

If we are gonna point the finger at anyone, it should be pointed directly at Joe Johnson who is pulling off his annual postseason disappearing act to perfection and singlehandedly destroying our already weak half court offense in the process.

I hate Josh, but I love him at the same time. He might be the most frustrating player I have ever cared about. No basketball player makes me jizz and want to hang myself like he does.

Just a mirage.
Each time he decide to take long shot, he will hit one important shot for the team, but it's only a illusion, the overall loss of him playing like that is higher than what we get.
ATL win when his plays PF, and thinks like a PF.

When things aren't going Josh's way, it shows all too often. Not sure at this point if he will ever overcome that limitation. When he doesn't get a foul call, it is too obvious that he needs to mature on the court.

We're at the point in this franchise that we could easily just dismantle and save Horford and Crawford.
For a team that won 50+ games this year, you sure couldn't tell this was the team that played well in Philips this year.
