So who else is on the PLEASE DON'T SIGN JOE JOHNSON bandwagon? Iso-Joe was on full-display the other day and I question whether he can kick those bad habits even if he was playing on a team that tries to run an actual offense.

NetsForce, I have alway been on the PLEASE DON"T SIGN JOE JOHNSON bandwagen.

NO to JOE!!!!!!

I will be ok with the Nets not signing any high profile FAs. I am ok with signing a defensive or 3pt shooting SG/SF FA for cheap.

I'm only ok with Joe Johnson if he's our SECOND big FA signing. I'd hate life if he was who we spent all out money on. Still, I think there is better ways to spend out money.

I'd rather sign a big PF then try to nab John Salmons instead:

Wall/Harris
Salmons/Lee
Twill/CDR
Boozer or Amare/Yi
Lopez/Boone

We need a guy like JoeJohn.I personally would have just kept VC.Who are you going to sign for cheap that does what they can do?Unless you think Turner fits that mold idk I've never really seen him play, only highlights.

Salmons reminds me of Tim Thomas. Take it how you wanna take it lol They play good in the playoffs to get paid then disappear during the season.

Really? Look at Salmons stats? He shows up almost every game during the regular season, he just elevates his game in the playoffs. People overlook him because, before the trade to Chicago last year, he had been on TERRIBLE teams. He's a baller though.

I'm not saying that he's MY GUY I want this offseason, but I'm just saying that depending on what unreasonable amount of money another player in his position wants (see: Joe Johnson believing he's worth more than 12 mill a year...HAHAHAHA), I'd gladly sign Salmons to a better contract and use the extra cap room after our big PF and Salmons signings to sign a few solid vet players off the bench.

Take it as a grain of salt though, I also would resign RJ to be our 6th man if he wanted an MLE like deal (which he has stated on record he'd rather have then opt in and make his big money this season).

Wall/Harris
Salmons/Lee
Twill/RJ (yes, I'd start Twill over RJ)/CDR
FA/YI/Dallas's first
Lopez/Boone/2nd Rounder

Please note, I'm not saying this is what I WANT us to do this offseason. I'm just saying, if we made these moves, I'd be happy with the team (I'm happy with the team every year though so call me crazy) even though I don't think that team could win a title.

I guess for the right price i would take him then. Was he hurt this season because i didn't hear much about him until he got traded to the Bucks and started lighting it up.After that Bulls/Cetics series last year i had higher expectations for him.So what kind of money would you offer him?

I will say NO TO JOE and definitely NO TO JOHN.

I dont see why we should pay Salmons when we might pick up Wall or Turner. I dont want to waste money on these type of players.

Step 1
Hire a Thibs
Step 2
Draft Wall or Tuner
Step 3
Trade Harris for Another Lottery pick
Step 4
Draft PF from trade above
Step 5
Sign FA 3pt shooter that can defend
Step 6
THAT IS IT

Wall or Turner/Dooling
Lee/CDR
Twill/ 3pt Shooter/Hayes
PF Draft/Yi
Lopez/

I'm all for signing JJ, just not for the MAX. 5 year 75 mil is what i would be willing to pay him. Yao Ming type of deal. He already turned down 4/60 so who knows. The Hawks should be the only team willing to offer him the MAX but i have a feeling the Knicks might too.

We would be a great singing if we miss out of Wall and Turner actually.

A guy I always forget about that I wouldn't mind us making a run at in some capacity is Travis Outlaw, obviously not as a major signing, but I'm saying.

Considering the amount of cap space we have, our roster and the fact he's coming off an injury, Outlaw to NJ on a 1-year deal would seem to make a lot of sense for all parties.

I'd be more than willing to give Travis Outlaw a deal similar to the one we gave Jarvis Hayes.

I like the trade but Do you think Miller would be happy backing up a rookie?

I would do this trade if we got the #1 pick ,ONLY if i knew Miller would be ok in a veteran backup role.If we end up with the #2 pick I would draft Turner and keep Harris.

I don't understand why Portland does it. Sure harris is a bit younger than Miller and is probably the better scorer, but at this point they need Millers leadership and superior passing abilities. Not to mention that they're also giving up their best defender and starting SF in the deal. We say yes but Portland says hellzzz no. I also doubt Miller would be happy being a backup.. he was bitching earlier in the season when he was backing up Steve blake..

Yeah, I don't know that Portland does it.
But it isn't because of needing Miller, they would upgrade to Harris in a heartbeat, it's because they have to include Batum, who is just a stellar prospect and an already solid player.

I think I would too. We need a pass first PG that can penetrate. If we can create a bigger package for Aldridge instead of Batum, I am even more for it.

I can't agree with you guys there. If we don't get Wall i'd rather move forward with the younger, better pg thats on a good contract which is Devin Harris. If its Batum you want then thats one thing but Devin>Miller allday.
