In all seriousness though, what do people actually think will happen - not what they think should happen?

I think it will be Ben Gordon V.2 and he will walk for nothing.

That is Felton of the past, Felton this year had LOTS of games shooting above 50%. He just takes better (less) shots now and also finishes at the rim a little better. He can't for the life of him shoot on the move though other than the floater.

One thing I wish he did more of was go to the mid range jumper game. I think he can create his own shot and score that way, we could've used that this year.

I think this is possible, unless the Bobcats feel like they can offer him the same exact deal as last time. I think we've done this in the past with Wallace.

im just now getting around to my bill simmons reading for the past few weeks

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/st ... ons/100429

123. Ray Felton
Made Jameer Nelson look good enough that I left the Magic series thinking, "Either Nelson has gone to another level and I need to reconfigure my 'Orlando can't make the Finals without a real go-to guy' statement, or Ray Felton is a career backup and should not earn more than $2.35 million a year."

I don't think ownership wants to pay the tax, and as we've all realized for months that means keeping only one of Thomas or Felton. I think the playoffs made it pretty clear which one could be a vital part of this team going forward and which one can be replaced.

You guys know way more about capspace than me, if we decide to let Felton go and give Thomas the qualifying offer, would we have enough space / what are our chances of signing someone like Steve Blake or Luke Ridnour?

We would have about $3 million to spend on 3 players. So we probably can't afford to sign Steve Blake or Luke Ridnour either.

The will probably trade Nazr Mohammed expiring contract for a PG. Our starting PG next season will probably be Ramon Sessions or TJ Ford. or if we are lucky Devin Harris.

I would happily welcome Devin Harris. Definitely one of my favorite players.

Really? I watched him a lot this year and I really wasn't blown away by him at all.

What is it about him/his game that you dig so much?

So as of today, what is everyone, each individual poster, comfortable in offering him?

Personally if it were me making the offer I would start the negotiation at 4 years/15 million with the last year a team option and cap it at 4 years/20 million with the last year a player option and be ok if it lands some where between those two points.

If he threated to walk if I din't go past 4/20, I'd thank him for his contribution over the past 5 years and wish him well for his future.

Felton is worth more like 6m/yr. 5m/yr would be a good deal for us. Regardless of that last playoff performance, basing his value on the overall season he's worth 6 and could probably get more from us or another team when it's all said and done.

Of course if we got him for 4/15 or 4/20 then that's awesome, but I don't see it happening.

I'm with you Slam, I wouldn't pay more than 5 million a year.

BigSlam, how can you offer less than what he made last season?

If Rod Higgins can work his magic and trade Nazr Mohammed and D.J. Augustin (and/or Gerald Henderson) for a future 1st rd pick & a trade exception. To "that team", that strikes out in free agency. Then I will offer Felton 5 years/ $30 million with the 5th year as a team option.

If we can't trade some salary first, I will not make him an offer.
