NY Times ed. : Lebron should go to Charlotte

LOL

Can't say there's not a chance, if MJ goes to LeBron after the playoffs and works out some sort of deal. It would be some sort of miracle.

Just for fun, since this is a long offseason, lets imagine what we'd do if he does decide to come here (it'd be a 1 year deal, IMO).

Who would you move? Would you rebrand the team and change colors?

I'm thinking even with LeBron, I'd keep Jack and Wallace and Tyson Chandler. Resign Tyrus and let Felton go. Get rid of Hughes, see if Nazr has any value as an expiring on the market.

We'd still be in Lux tax land, but that would be unavoidable if you can land LeBron, and I'm sure MJ would we more than happy to pay considering the benefits.

And I should get to bump uglies with Eva Wywral. Doesn't mean either one is happening!!

If it did happen (and if it did PLEASE let that mean that I would get to bump uglies with Eva Wywral and not have my wife murder me) I would change the name to the Jordan LeBron's, I would move everyone and anyone it took to have him here, I would change the team colours to what ever colour is LeBron's kids favorite at the time and I would giggle like a shool girl.

Has anyone else seen the LeBron/ball-boy clip?

But yeah, LBJ should come to the QC.

The rebranding process takes two years. Sorry to be the wet blanket.

I think Rhoden had too much from the punch bowl when he wrote this.

Maybe he'll come if Jordan will offer him a percentage of the team when he retires. LeBron said he wanted to be an owner.

wow thats a great story.....i guess i should be praying to the chosen one for this to happen....but seriously could you imagine how great lebron team would be if he was on a team that didnt run the **** offense ever. while getting lbj would be great i dont think the bobcats need him to be great they are really a dominant post player and or a dominant point guard away from being awesome....problem is every other team in the league is looking for the same thing lol

Charlotte would be the new Power in the NBA if Lebron went there, but I don't think Lebron want to live under Jordans' shadow...

I want to see him anywhere but Cleveland or New York. Probably because it's not happening and aberration from rational expectation is sort of thrilling.

This is most certainly commentary on the 'Lebron to Knicks' hype. It's most certainly a pleasant flavor of liberal self loathing. "We don't deserve Lebron" seems to be the theme, and who could call that dishonest?

Bosh, Johnson, Stoudamire will all have new homes because their teams will be unwilling to offer them the max when they know the CBA restructuring is coming up. I don't see any of those player's agents allowing them to accept a short term max-near max deal, all of these guys are going to re-sign for as long as they can for as much as they can. Their locals will be determined by who is most desperate to spend their cap space.

Wade will stay in Miami. There's no reason for them not to offer the max for as long as possible or for him to leave. The idea of entertaining going to a winner is cute.

LeBron is another story though. Like I wrote somewhere before, if I'm the Cavs I give LeBron the max that bird rights will allow, but don't entertain sign and trade offers. I leak this news to the media, forcing LeBron to re-sign with my club or be painted as the villain. "We did everything we could, offered LeBron more money for longer than anyone else could and it wasn't good enough for him." Can't be painted as cheap that way and what type of package is going to make up for everything LeBron does in Cleveland. Anyway, that's how I'd handle it.

Did I miss any of the max level guys?

He SHOULD, but with all of this cap space and hype, I really think it's going to be the one final summer of ridiculous overpayment.
