I think we should bring him in. McCarthy may be able to turn him into a capable QB.

I'd definitely be down. We really only have 2 QBs at this point and could use a 3rd stringer to develop. If anyone can groom Russell into a legit NFL QB it's McCarthy.

Would I take a chance on him if MM thought he could turn his career around a bit? Absolutely. Would be interesting to see how he does with zero expectations on him, as obviously ARod is our guy.

But do I think he sucks? Absolutely. I have honestly never liked JMR.

I'd take him as a long term reclamation project. I wouldnt even let him touch a football until he gets his weight under control though. Get in shape Fatmarcus!

Arod is our guy and the best young star in the NFL. Why would you bring in one of the biggest busts in NFL history? No reason to do that for a 2nd string QB at best on the Packers. Thats a chance with no reward.

There is a history here--Tim Couch finished as a Packer. His career bombed because of injury, not apathy, however. They also once brought Jim Druckenmiller to camp but he didn't last three hours.

I've heard the most interested teams in Russell are Washington and Dallas. Go figure.

He has to want to be turned into a good QB to actually become one...

The issue with Russell is not talent, it's that he just doesn't care.

You bring him in because you have a coach that is an outstanding QB coach, you coach him up on a very cheap contract and then trade him off for value. You aren't bringing him in to replace or even compete with ARodg. He should be available for relatively cheap and it is a low risk high reward type of gamble.

Bingo. If he doesn't care now then what'll really get him to care enough to become something. Besides, the Packers already have their QB for the next 8-10 years.

Again like I said there is no reward. Like you really want to have Russell around Rodgers. That slike asking someone if they would like to have cancer right now.

He could probably hold it down on the offensive line at his weight.
