Anaheim (12-18) @ Seattle (11-17)

Jered Weaver (3-1, 3.19) vs. Felix Hernandez (2-2, 3.10)

Analysis: We both suck, and coming off sweeps. Maybe we'll win a game on this 9-game homestand?

Well, that game easily overtakes the Byrnes missed bunt game as worst game of the year. Felix gets shelled, and we almost got no-hit. By a team that was fresh off a 7 game losing streak.

This team both sucks and blows.

Nothing about this team makes sense. Felix with multiple bad starts in a row, this last one his lowest IP since he was what... 18? The offense is fug-ugly, granted, but it shouldn't be... this bad. 9 runs through 7 games of this homestand? I understand not churning out 5,6, 7 runs a game, but it's literally getting to be too much to ask this team to score one run. It's 4-0 Angels after one inning last night, and I literally turn off the game because there's no way we can put up 4 runs in a 9 inning game.

Blah.

My God...the M's are tied 3-3 in the 9th, and they had a runner on with two outs. And I thought "Gutierrez and Lopez will probably walk, then Sweeney will come in to **** it all up." And somehow, in spite of Lopez hating walks with all his might, that prophecy came true, and we scored nothing.

Angels score in the 10th...and heeeere comes the bottom of the order for the M's to try and tie it. Hey, how about letting Griffey pinch hit as the last batter of the inning so we can see both our awful DH's go down in flames in the same game.

It seems like when our hitting has actually produced (to the tune of 3 whole runs in one game!) Aardsma is having quite a bit of trouble. He blew a save the other day, had a whale of a time in the 9th (loaded the bases, 1 out) and gave up the lead in the 10th.

The bad part of having such a terrible line-up is that naturally, we have no bench. I use the term 'rally' with this team loosely, but when it does try to string something together, it seems like Sweeney (as mentioned above) or Rob Johnson are the ones to come to the plate 99% of the time with the bases loaded and a couple outs. Every. Single. Time. Is there really NO ONE that can pinch hit for them, especially Rob? Sweeney, at least, tied the game today... although his last at-bat really stunk. He swung at ball's 3 and 4, which would have walked in the game winning run.

Top 5, 4-0 Mariners.

No, really. We've scored 4 runs in 4 innings. TWO home runs. This is rarified air, gentlemen.

Finally...an offense laden win. It's good to see Saunders succeed.

Michael Saunders and Josh Wilson should both start for good until we trade for something better. Oh, and keep Moore behind the plate.

Big ups to Vargas. We still suck, but atleast we finally won again.
