Ricky Rubio vs Bosh or Bosh and Rubio?

Post#1 » by wadero » Sun May 9, 2010 9:38 pm

If we dont get Bosh. Do you think Morey Chases Rubio again? Or if we give up Brooks to get Bosh do you think Lowry and Rubio get us a championship???

I don't think Rubio would make immediate impact in the NBA. There's a learning period for euro players. And besides, I think the Rockets want to keep Ab.

Morey is still chasing Rubio. That pursuit is independent of Bosh.
If he has to trade away Brooks,I imagine the team feels Lowry could start and Rubio could come off the bench til he's ready.

There's nothing the Wolves want for Rubio. Rubio is going nowhere. If he ever wants to play in the NBA, the Wolves are his only option.

Nothing personal.

I don't get this fascination about Ricky Rubio. So are we contending or not? I understand he has a lot of potential, but like aznkillabees pointed out, we're not going to win a championship with Rubio at the helm. He has yet to play an NBA game and I feel we're far better off with Brooks if our goal is to contend for the championship.

I'm with you about this Rubio fascination. I don't understand people wanting to ship out a good young point guard in the hopes that this kid works out. I honestly don't see Rubio ever being as good as Aaron Brooks in the NBA. He doesn't have the speed or the shot to pull it off.

Well he would fill our need for a distributor, and if I may be optimistic for a second, he'd be a great pass first shooting guard to our shoot first point guard

But yea, I don't see what the big fuss is about him

I would much rather have Aaron Brooks than Ricky Rubio.

And judging from the schooling he gave Rubio at the Fifas, I'd rather have Sergio Llull as well.

I'd rather have Lowry. He's a defensive bulldog and a good distributor. I like how Rick platoons him with AB at the one. Unless the Rockets are trading for Chris Paul they're fine at that position.

Rubio is actually going to impact the NBA team instantly but may never be an allstar. He is the kind of player that will always make his team plus on the court but may never put up huge scoring numbers which makes allstars.

Rubio has already lead the Spain team against the U.S. team in a gold medal game. He just was the youngest player to lead a Euro team to a Championship. Rubio is just a great leader and knows how to play with others which is why he will be successful.

Durant just said Darko is one of best centers in the league. For once, I'm not being sarcastic in a tweet. #Twolves

I'm not sold on any player I have yet to watch 5 games in. I saw him in the olympics, was impressed, saw him in a couple of clips on youtube, that never really tells me anything.

If he's turning heads in the NBA staff, and that he's playing behind Juan Carlos Navarro for 21 minutes a game on Barcelona, and he's still getting 7 points, 3 boards, 4 assists on those minutes, then I think people who are in the know already are convinced that he is full of potenial.

The thing is, do you want to develop him in Europe where he might be too old to change his game, work on his release etc, but you are doing it on someone else's dime, or do you want him to do it here, where he wouldn't make an impact right away, he migh get really good or his confidence might get shattered and he goes Darko around the league for a few years?

My opinion is that since he has won at almost every level he has played at, he's gonna find his niche in the NBA. However, he will not do it with the Rockets. There are too many hoops to jump through for Houston to get Minny to give up the rights, and the window is only open for 2010-11. After that, the NBA kicker for Rubio's contract expires and he has to finish out his term in Spain with FC Barcelona.

Morey can chase all he wants but there's nothing you can offer that could make the Wolves FO give up on Rubio. Right or wrong Kahn believes he's the closest thing to a franchise player they have now, and i agree. It would be like trading Yao in 2002 right after the draft.
They'd trade big Al, Love, the 4th pick, whatever, before trading Rubio's rights.

Probably true sisibiio. Unless Rubio tells Minn that he will never, ever play for them. (BTW,this isn't a knock on Minn, look at problems SA is having in getting Tiago Splitter to agree to come over.)
And there's the little detail where Minn GM before the lottery spoke of Rubio either playing for Minn or being a key trading piece. Once Kahn said that, there's no going back.

I'd like to know why Love isn't playing more.
Morey 2020.

He is not the greatest defender and with him and Al on the court together the team doesn't get a lot stops.

So this off season one of them will be traded without a doubt.
