Bobcats War Room- Second Pick

Post#1 » by Walt Cronkite » Tue May 11, 2010 1:57 am

If by some amazing turn of events we ended up with the #1 pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, we unanimously agree that we would select John Wall to become the next Bobcat. Congrats, Mr. Wall, we are from the same city!! May your career be as bright or brighter than Raleigh success stories like Nate McMillan and Michael C. Hall (Dexter Morgan, the gay guy from Six Feet) and not so much like Chris Wilcox's or Shavlik Randolph's. That would be disappointing.

Now, awaken and face a less appealing day dream. In this scenario, MJ, LB and Higgy made a move we will probably look back in hindsight and regret, but it nets us the #2 pick in the present! Hurray! The nominees, as selected by my very scientifically developed "It's all of the options from the last thread plus a guy"-o-meter. Brought to you be the people that made the Howl-O-Meter!

I selected Turner. Brandon Roy was the one that got away, let's not repeat history. Dude fractured 2 vertebrae and was balling 4 weeks later. That's a gamer.

 Nice touch Walt.

Turner. Could be as good as Grant Hill, couldn't see him being any worse than Jax (with his head on straight).

Can't not like that.

Got to be Turner. He's not the biggest need, but I think he's the 2nd best player. I'd hate to miss out.

Exactly. Too much talent to pass on with Turner.

I think as per most drafts the top two picks are pretty much a lock - it's just who goes #1 and who goes #2 that might change.

As per most drafts, from #3 onwards is where it gets really murky. As it stands, even at this stage, I am flipping between two players unsure of who I would take at #3 - and it might shock some dudes that I would take one of them as high as #3.

I agree, Turner is the 2nd best player in the draft... BUT I would select Cousins 2nd overall. "Talented" Big Men are hard to come by in the NBA. I believe Cousin could develop into a Dwight type player (with less vertical).

Although Turner is my pick, I can see the logic in Cousins, especially if the FO thinks we wont resign TT. But if they dont resign TT, that was a stupid deal to make giving up a 1st for a 2 month rental. They dang well better resign him.

I'm late to the party. Still goin slow since my stroke, but we are a heartbeat away from needing a team rebuild. At this point, I like TALENT. Turner literally oozes talent. Well, not on the same level as Wall right now, but we remember what a worldbeater Oden turned out to be....... merely AVERAGE. Not even the talked about guy on his own team. Turner's game will be a (clearing throat)
Head turner.

Good to be back guys.

12 votes for Turner and one apiece for Cousins and Favors. Someone voted for the final option but didn't leave a comment, so we'll assume it was a vote for "trade the pick" unless that voter explains themselves later.

Already made the thread for the hypothetical scenario where we grab the 3rd pick. Check it out!
