Dear Sir,
I come to this board in the quest for knowledge. Everyday I, myself make it a point to learn something new. The day I have failed, will be the day I have passed away. However, I do not follow blindly, I have the desire to know how or why.
I apologize that my desire to know how or why someone would come to a certain conclusion would cause such a great commotion. Personally, after the excellent arguments set forth by Mr. Guilty Party and Mr. Moore (and my own research) I believe that Mr. Laimbeer and Mr. Casey to be my two top candidates, in addition to Mr. Collins. I believe these individuals would possibly provide a quicker turnaround to respectability than some others. If Sixers management would choose to totally rebuild this team and go in a totally different direction, I would be very comfortable handing the reigns over to Mr. Woodson, who has done an amazing job under difficult circumstances in Atlanta.
Thank you very much and have a nice day.
Dear Sir,
What are you flying on or traveling in on your quest for knowledge?
Your apology has not been Accepted on my end at all. Atleast not until you stop with the sarcastic replies. Also I have to vehemently disagree with you on the idea of us hiring "Mr. Woodson". In fact I think he sucks as a coach and should be fired immediately. I don't think he's all that "glorious" of a coach at all. I also fail to see his difficult circumstances in Atlanta...Please explain them if you would. Having high draft picks over the last eight years, and signing a Joe Johnson are hardly difficult circumstances in my opinion. Atlanta is underachieving if you ask me.
Gee I can't wait for your next response. I'm sure it will be "quite extraordinary" and grammatically correct with perfect puncuation formatted for MLA style. Please use your little brown to overlook any possible errors you might construct from here on out or I will be forced to correct them. Thank you for being so polite as well, i'll have to invite you over for tea time someday.
Cherrio...
Thank you so kindly dear sir, and have a glorious day.....
Dear Sir,
I am deeply saddened that you have taken offense to anything I have written. I once again hope that you do accept my apology, because I sincerely meant no ill will directed at you sir. As you have stated, I would be more than happy to meet you for a cup of tea. I do not wish to exclude many of the other excellent posters here as well, and I wish to welcome everyone. Please feel free to private message me, if Mr. Explosionsindasky or anyone else would wish to cordially converse over a cup of tea or indeed a beverage of their choice. I myself do prefer the green tea due to the extra added health benefits it does provide.
I once again must offer an apology. It appears I must have failed in properly explaining the conditions of my recommendation of Mr. Woodson.
If Sixers management would choose to totally rebuild this team and go in a totally different direction, I would be very comfortable handing the reigns over to Mr. Woodson, who has done an amazing job under difficult circumstances in Atlanta.
I will now hope to rectify any misunderstandings from the quote above from my original statement.
I believe if the President of Basketball Operations and General Manager, Mr. Stefanski would choose to go in a different direction and wish to drastically change the personnel of the team, hence rebuild, that Mr. Woodson would be a very fine selection. However, as the team is currently constructed, I find that there would be better candidates, including a few that I have failed to mention.
I believe Mr. Woodson has proven with his tenure in Atlanta that he possesses qualities that I would look for as head coach in guiding a team towards being competitive. Mr. Woodson is a flexible coach. I believe he did the best job possible in terms of wins and improvement with a rather imperfect roster. Examples would include not having a real point guard and then acquiring a point guard who is best suited for the Princeton Offense to run an isolation based offense. He has also succeeded in using a natural four in Mr. Horford at the five, resulting in overall success for the team and Mr. Horford. Mr. Woodson has also managed to acheive a better than average team defense, playing a lineup that has two awful defenders in the backcourt with Mr. Crawford and Mr. Bibby. The frontcourt situation is less than ideal too, with Mr. Smith at the four who does indeed block a lot of shots and get a lot of steals, but regularly takes great risks resulting in him being an overall average defender. As stated before, I believe Mr. Horford is slightly undersized to be a starting five in this league, however I feel is more than holding is own.
Mr. Woodson has also demonstrated that he is willing to play young players and have them play to their respective strengths, thus increasing their value. He has also showed a resiliency needed with having to deal with ownership issues, multiple GM's and lame duck status. Mr. Woodson has also demonstrated an ability to manage some rather unique personalities, such as Mr. Smith and Mr. Crawford, that can often disrupt the harmony of a team.
However, and I do stress this, I do not believe he is the best choice for the Sixers. I believe his talents are more as to guiding a team, rather than strictly coaching it. I do not believe he stresses discipline, perfection of execution, and detail enough. I also question some of his game time coaching decisions. I believe he has a ceiling as to how far he can take a team. I think he has reached that point right now in Atlanta. However, if Mr. Johnson does leave via free agency I believe it might be best to keep him for another year or so. I think he is a great choice if your team is at the floor because I believe he has the ability to take a team up to six feet on that eight foot ceiling. However, I believe the Sixers are sitting around three feet and I want this hire to have the ability to get around seven feet.
I do hope I have properly cleared up any misunderstandings regarding my preferred candidates and Mr. Woodson. I also do appreciate that yourself or anyone else to please note of any grammatical errors that occur in my writing. I, myself do not possess a degree in English, however I do write essays and articles for consideration in various journals. The English department has always been nice enough to go over my work and make the proper corrections for me. While I appreciate the work they have done, I believe carelessness and laziness has been an ill side effect. I would like to thank you for taking it upon yourself to note the various errors. I believe one can not learn, if one does not know what one is doing wrong.
Thank you very much and have a nice day.
