Re: Devin Harris
I would love if we got Devin Harris. We would finally have a PG. Our future would look at least a little brighter. I'm guessing we would have to give up Troy Murphy and the #10 (or Brandon Rush). We'd probably have to add something else, but not sure what.

Re: Devin Harris
I'm betting the workings would be Ford and #10.
There's a REALLY slight possibility that the economy could continue to make an effect on the game and maybe we could squeak in a deal of Murphy for Harris/Humphries. Who knows. Who though the Rockets could get Kevin Martin, Jordan Hill, and two likely lotto picks for Tracy McGrady's expiring and Carl Landry? I sure didn't.

Re: Devin Harris
There has been speculation on this board for some time now about the availability of Harris. I'm glad to see that we somewhat know what we're talking about. Once again, I'd gladly give our first and any of our 3 big expirings for Harris + filler.

lol that is very true, the NBA business side of things is very weird. There are many lopsided deals made that make you re-think things. So, while i wouldn't doubt that the Pacers could potentially get Harris without losing the 10th pick but i'd have to imagine that a Brandon Rush would need to be included. And only way we do get Harris without dealing the 10th pick is if we trade Troy Murphy. Murphy would help the Nets win now, which is what i'm assuming they are aiming for and he is an expiring.
That being said, I don't think the Nets trade Harris unless they do end up receiving a first round pick. It depends on who the Pacers value with the 10th pick. Devin Harris is better then probably almost anyone we will have a crack at. Maybe even the Pacers can get the Nets' second first round pick in a swap? Then we could still aim to get a Willie Warren, Quincy Pondexter or Larry Sanders.

Sign me up if it's Ford+#10 for Harris. Here's hoping John Wall to the Nets, if we can't pull a miracle.

IDK if I like the idea of giving our first for Harris, IDK why, just seems like we could miss yet again in the draft.

Yeah, I don't see anything at 10 I would take over Harris. I would do that in a heartbeat and make finding a starting level 2 guard the next priority.

Assuming we wouldn't ship Brandon Rush to the Nets in any type of deal, I think we will have exactly that in a few years with him.

Re: Devin Harris
A couple of potentials:
Rush, #10 and an expiring (Murphy, Ford or Dunleavy) for Harris and either Lee or CDR
#10 and an expiring (Murphy, Ford or Dunleavy) for Harris and J Boone
Which one is better?
Hopefully the Pacers aren't dumb enough to go after Humphries. He quickly went from "Sam Mitchell is a great coach that got the best out of me," (remember when he used to pass the ball in TOR?) to "It's like being at the U of Minn again!" (he gets his stats at the expense of his team)

After the NETS pick Wall; What is their next pressing NEED, regardless of what we want to ship them?

I would say another young prospect and cap space, considering they know they won't be in playoff contention again next year.

I was thinking a deal would look something like:
Harris/CDR/Yi or Humphries for 10th pick/Rush/Ford

Do it...
I like Yi too much, though, to it's kind of coming from a homer place.

Re: Devin Harris
No Mr. Yi, thanks!
Yi's age is mystic, and you got to face the pressure from Mainland China to play or start him even when he's down. And when he played the final of Asian Basketball Championship in 2009, he was unable to beat Haddadi, the Iran center from the Memphis.
All in all, we need to wait until the draft lottery next week.
If we get one of the first two picks, it's simple. Draft Wall or Turner.
If the Nets get #1 and we get #3, trade #3 and Ford for Harris.
If the Nets get #1 and we stay at #10, I say we trade Murphy, #10, and #40 for Harris and #27. Then we could deal Ford later.

Re: Devin Harris
^^^^If I had a 1% chance to get the Swine Flu, I wouldn't be concerned. The only time 1% is good is when you play the Powerball. Sure Stern owes us one, and since the results seem to be manipulated, anything is possible I guess. But the fact is we are drafting atleast 10th.
I disagree that China would demand Yi start, especially when Murphy is better.
I like Scoot's theory, with the economy the way it is (a lot of teams are burning money), losing teams may get desperate to move contracts and only require useful expirings as the main incentive, leaving us with the #10. We'll see how things play out, but I would like to retain the pick if possible because the cupboard is about to get bare.

Re: Devin Harris
I'm probably the only one who doesn't want Harris on this team, but I'll stick by that opinion.
I think he's a terrible fit for this team, injury prone, and the cost of getting him wouldn't be worth it.
I'd much rather go after the more easily attainable, more durable Raymond Felton.
Also, I hope he forgot the green font when he said trade #3 for Harris.

You would trade the #3 pick for Devin Harris? Pacers might as well move out of town if that happens.
