I wonder if the fact that the Clippers have Blake Griffin, would cause a free agent power forward to think twice about signing with the Clippers. An Amare might be thinking in the back of his head that Blake might be cutting into his playing time and might cause him to play more center then desired. Also, the potential of trading Kaman and having to be an undersized center full time might not be very desirable.

I saw that too but that post could go in a more appropriate place. I was really hoping that we could re-sign him in the off season.

Clippers really need a go to guy, I dont care if they have to over pay to get one. That might be the only way they become legitimate. Im not just talking about the money either, Clipps might have to part with a prized prospect like Griffin and/or even Gordan to obtain this type of player.

Would you guys do Blake Griffin, Eric Gordon, and your First Rd. Pick this year for Danny Granger, Tyler Hansbrough, and the Pacers 2011 First Rd. (top 3 protected pick)? Just trying to gage what teams would give up for Granger. Feel free to post what you feel you would offer. I just didn't know where to begin with it.

Oh and obviously there would have to be something thrown in to make it work financially.

I would consider it if im the Clippers. I know they think the world of Gordan and Griffin.
A trade like this would really shake up both team's rosters, but thats probably what you want to do if your teams suck, like the two teams involved in this proposed deal. Clippers would probably prefer to do the trade without the picks involved, or maybe use Minisota's pick for next year though. Granger's perimeter shooting would go good next to Kaman's post play and the way Baron plays. Ofcoarse, the Clippers loose a good perimeter shooter in Gordan, but they might be able to get a Xavier Henry if they are able to keep the 8th pick. Griffin could be replaced with somebody from a deep free agent class at the power forward position.

No way in hell. We wouldn't trade Blake Griffin straight up for Danny Granger. Griffin is going to be a stud.

Mavs fan here.

Would you trade Chris Kaman and Baron Davis for Erick Dampier (Immediate expiring costs you $0), Jason Terry, and Mavs 2012 unprotected first?

I would say No because I don't think our goal is to dump big contracts.

I think Kaman to Dallas makes sense, but so does Kaman to San Antonio and Kaman to just about anywhere. He should be able to fetch more than this.

And I don't think we're ready to dump Baron yet. I believe we will attempt to sign a big name free agent to pair with our current cast, including Baron.

No. This proposal is so far off base it isn't worth making a counter offer. Adding Griffin, Gordon and a lottery pick would probably improve the Pacers enough to make the 2011 first rounder land somewhere in the middle of the first round.

I would say no to this one. The Clippers already have enough cap space and Jason Terry isn't a true PG so the Clippers would need to fill both the C and PG positions with this trade.

Seeing how Blake Griffin will probally end up like greg oden...I'd say trade him for Cleveland's Jawad Williams and Sebastian Telfair.

I would be all for the Clippers trading Kaman and Baron for expirings but that might not be possible especially for Baron since he has 3 years left and is overpaid.

Kaman for Prince
Baron for TJ Ford and Dahntay Jones

Kaman, Baron for Calderon, Evans, Banks, Belinelli

Clippers aren't going to win with Kaman and Baron so might as well get rid of them and build around Griffin, Gordon, #8 pick, and next year's top 4 pick. With Kaman and Baron, the Clippers would miss the playoffs and get a pick around #10 or #11. Without Kaman and Baron, the Clippers would miss the playoffs and get a top 4 pick.

Also without Baron and Kaman - Griffin, Gordon, and #8 pick would get lots of shots and will be the go to players in crunch time of close games which would be valuable experience.

I like what OKC and Portland have done by building through the draft. Three years from now, the Clippers could be this year's OKC if the Clippers draft well and Griffin completely recovers from this injury.

detroit trade proposal.

Post#1037 » by dVs33 » Tue May 11, 2010 7:42 pm

I'm a Detroit fan.
Just wanted to know your thoughts of a Prince and Kaman trade?
What sort of incentives would you guys want for a trade or is a straight up trade close to fair??

Well, we are not trying to unload his salary for an expiring or anything. Hes one of the few true centers left in the league. He avereged 18 points and 9 rebounds last season. Thats pretty good production for your big man. Well I would do it for Prince and your pick. Clippers would then draft Greg Monroe with the pick to help fill the void at center.

Just the pick. We would have to use one pick on Monroe and the other pick on a small forward. Teyshawn alone does not solidify our hole at the small forward position. Clippers need more of a scorer at the position.
