The 2010 NBA FINALS GAME 7: Lakers vs Celtics

Post#1 » by NEM » Mon May 10, 2010 4:31 am

As some of you may know, I am a Magic fan, but I am asking this question on every teams board (except the teams still in the playoffs) just to get a view of how everyone else feels about the playoffs. Sort of for like personal research type of deal. Provide an explanation if possible.

Thx,
Raw
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

I just hope it isn't a lakers/cleveland finals..

Hopefully it'll be a Phoenix/Orlando Finals with the Magic winning in 7.

It's going to be a Lakers vs. Magic finals just like I called at the beginning of the year... And yeah the Lakers are going to win again... The series will be closer this time around though...

Dont really know any of the big 3 can take it this year.
Definitely hoping its the Magic though, Vince deserves one.

The magic has preety much easily won the two first rounds. However, I don´t think they will beat Cleveland just because of that. Although i will root for Vince and the Magic in the east final, im predicting that the cavaliers will win in 6 or7.
For the finals with lakers and cleveland....i don´t really know, but i would say Cleveland(this is their year)

I'm looking forward to Magic vs. Celtics ECF...though many may not think its likely, I do believe if the C's play their best game w/ Rondo's performance=Big 3 +1, they could make a push for the title...they're very deep and might need to stretch the bench even further, if neccessary...

On the other hand, I would not be surprised if the Magic come out of the East...(and I wouldnt mind it either...just as long as either one beats Lakers...)

IMO, Eastern Conference has great chance at winning the title this year... (Magic, Celtics or Cavs)...LBJ's injury obvioulsy hinders their chances...we'll see if he can magically heal...

Favorite = Lakers, followed by Magic to win it all...Hopefully I'm rooting for Celtics or Magic to beat the Lakers...If the Cavs go, I'll root for the East and Cavs/LBJ to win first title...

I'm hoping the Magic win. I'll be bold and say that's also my prediction.

I just want a conf. finals setup of my liking...extremely happy the Spurs didnt make it (sorry SA)...and I really think the Suns can give the Lakers a run for their money...

I had Cavs vs Lakers, as many did in the Finals this year, with LBJ winning his first...But I look at the matchups and the Magic vs Suns could also be a nice Finals matchup, I wouldnt mind seeing that...

If you dont know, I was never a Jordan fan, never liked Kobe, and LBJ though I think he could be the best player ever, cries too much for my liking, so I'm not a big fan of him either...

However, Ray-boy, now thats my man...always a big fan, even back in the day at UCONN when he was beating my Redmen...I'm partial due to him being one of my favorite players ever, still in the league looking very close to his prime, obviously now in spurts...but so effective when he has it going...

One of my favorite moments ever was warming up Ray when he was in town, playing for the Bucks... before his movie days, and probably before anyone really knew how good he was...that year it was maybe his 2nd year in the league and I just remember throwing bounce pass after bounce pass, watching swish after swish, maybe it lasted only several minutes, but it felt like me and him were the only ones on the court...I walked away saying, wow, **** sweetest jumper in the league...or at least that I ever saw up close and personal...

Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin' back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?"

Jac, were you a ball boy for the Nets or did you work for them?

It was a paying job...lol...more like a player assistant, I did a lot more than your your average ball boy and my good friend at the time was equipment manager, so he would ride my ass with jobs that had to get done...I was usually positioned with the visiting team...in the lockeroom, behind the bench sometimes on the court warmups...but I was every where, including getting Del Harris, back in the day when he coached Lakers, a six pack for the road...

no...But I did pursue a career in sports information for awhile, but a couple of my connections were gone by the time I graduated...to be completely honest, my love for sports in general is huge, but I was not willing to make nothing for 1-3 years, to land an entry level job for $25,000...

At the end of the day, no matter how big your passion is for sports, it comes down to whether or not you willing to be a slave and kiss ass, make no money and hope there is a real job opening w/in 5 years AND whoever you are with, actually like you enough to offer you the job....I chose to actually get paid doing something else...

its all comes down to connections, the type of person you are and the type life you want for yourself...(even at a younger age...)...that was an easy decision for me...

btw, Celtics are on a mission...I'm loving it...I know there are a good amount of people out there who dont like KG, never understood this...You can finally see him healthy, between the last 25 % of regular season right up to last night...he's getting some lift on his jumper, rebounding well and playing good defense...And if Pierce gets that look in his eye, forget about it, this is over in Boston...

Ray being on fire like he is, is a testaement to his hard work and dedication to being prepared every night...u gotta love it...or at least appreciate it...

I always liked KG even though he can be a giant douche. I don't like Lebron at all, although I'm pretty sure I'd be changing my tune if he decided to come here.
I'm eating a little crow here though, I really thought it was going to be Cleveland in 6.
Lebron really came with a crap performance last night, giving no effort and just looking completely distanced, like he didn't give an F. His post game comments were disgusting as well.

Orlando is at the top of their game right now I got to lean towards them. Plus I'm a VC and Anderson fan so why not root for them. I just don't want to see LA or Boston, especially not Boston.

If VC wins I would be so happy for him. It would definitely silent all the haters. I truly hope the Magic win this season.

I still dont get this thing with KG...never did, please fill me in (I think at one time a younger member rattled off some BS of an on the court situation, ect...)...I mean we know he can stubborn in his ways, hardnosed with his mindset and his attitude...but I really never got this, at least the utter dislike...

CONGRATS go out to the Celtics....gonna be a great ECF...

Return to Brooklyn Nets
