Injuries happen. I think everybody knew that Johnson was going to miss some time throughout the season with his injury history. And the injury to Granderson could have happened to anybody. All that really matters is that they don't miss a massive amount of time or have any setbacks and the team is healthy going into the playoffs.

I blame Vasquez first since the offense is nowhere to be found.

Stud performance by hughes.. 5-0 early cy young candidate?

Joba is looking nasty out of the pen. the velocity and tenacity is back..

Cerveli is a heck of a backup catcher.. intense guy. I like that..

bats finally broke out in the 9th... bloop hits and all... hey, it is not our fault the tigers have a field the size of mexico...

Mo is back looking good..

Gardner is becoming one of the toughest out in MLB.. especially with that speed, he can just slap the ball on the ground and leg it out..

nice win..

that is a HUGE park, and the outfielders have to play deep... even with the speed of jackson, hey can't cover all of that ground.. so I am not suprised at all the bloop hits..

This is the Hughes Cashman didn't want to trade. You could make the argument that he's been the best pitcher in baseball this year. -Jitpal

Today I am off, at home chillin, took the day off, watching the yanks(forgot game was on), and we are down 1-0 facing verlander and being impatient at the plate.. doesn't look good so far..

down 3-0 and we are not hitting worth a darn vs verlander, game done unless something drastic happens..... 1-3 vs the tigers.. you gotta be kidding me.. we lose a series to that hack of a team...

verlander throws hard, but is not the most efficient pitcher.. 118 pitches in 6 and 2/3 innings? his last few starts have all been in the 100-125 pitch range...

Offense is hurting badly. Hopefully they can get by this stretch with a decent record and be back full strength for the end of this month / next month when they have series against HOU, BAL, CLE, SEA etc.
