So you are going to put millions of dollars into a savings account when only $250,000 of it is insured. Sounds like a GREAT plan!

Who said it only going to one bank? diversify and put it in multiple banks overseas esp in Austria or Switzerland, not hard to do buddy esp with that kind of money. Where do you think the crooked criminal Elites stack their money?[/quote]

“Put it in a savings account...” implies that it’s 1 bank account. I would agree with you on gold/silver though.

It's better than what Kenny Anderson, Antoine Walker, and Scottie Pippen did.

That is phenomenal advice. You obviously have no clue what you're talking about.

Couple million in the bank ensures you live a great lifestyle off the interest.

Dude you beat me to it. But the worst part of it is that on the TV show the chick got an abortion.

Next time I see her she is like 8 months pregnant in a wedding dress standing on the alter next to Kenny Anderson.

I wonder why she didn't make a trip to the clinic with Kenny's baby? Oh wait gravy train!

I find it far more shocking that he managed to earn 60 million in the first place

No, it IS terrible advice. Not only is it a terrible decision to leave millions of dollars in a savings account that’s only insured up to $250,000 but it’s also a terrible decision to leave that kind of money in dollar denominated investments. What would you do when the dollar collapses? Those millions of dollars would then be worthless. Think it can’t happen? You obviously have NO CLUE what you are talking about. This just confirms my opinion that most people, if they had that kind of money, would lose it all with in a few years.

Marbury, Telfair, Tinsley, Rod Strickland, Rafer Alston....does being a PG from NYC make you a dumbass?

I certainly wouldn't be dancing in the streets or bestowing a bunch of praise on Hammond though.

Only an idiot who doesn't know the value of the $, thinks this is a terrible advice, Yeah the insurance is a lot devalued, banks are terribly unreliable and the dollar might collapse one day but it's the next best thing to investing in gold and or silver. I happen to think that some of these athletes are unconsciously doing the right thing for all the wrong reasons, I mean just look at at the gold teeth and necklaces they posses and the silver accessories they have in their pimped rides, what seems as ostentatious display of wealth is really a practical sound investment in today's economy and collapsing currency.

The major problem here stems from poo education and a high roller/baller lifestyle. 1st thing these guys do when they get into the league is pay their agents next thing most do is buy a big ass house and an expensive car. Sorry guys but if you went out and got a modest house and just rolled around in a BMW or Audi younstill look good have a very nice car but guess what there's
money left in the bank account.

Greg oden is a perfect example of this: I worked in a sandwhich shop in Columbus last year and he used to come into the store for lunch during the summer at the beginning of the summer he was driving a nice brand new black truck don't remember the make and modle butnit was pretty nice. By the end of the summer henwas driving a different truck that had a custom paint job platnium rims and in general looked expensive and custom. This is a terrible us of that money he should have stuck with the 1st truck which was still very nice and new but instead he's subscribed to the pimp my ride school of thought and way overspent on a vehichle.

If the NBA wants players to stay in college they need to:

#1) offer a 2 year AA degree in:

#2) being an NBA player and not losing all your $.

#3) The teachers should be all these NBA knuckleheads that lost 50 mil and more so at least they have a job.

#4) The classes should be contract negotiations 101, marketing (myslef), finance, accounting, how to not have a rap career aka money pit, great interviews, birth control is my friend, pre-nups, etc. I'd stay in school 2 years if they were actually teaching me stuff that I could use in my future profession.

Did Anderson even make $60 million in his career as a player? He played when a big contract was about 4 million a year for most of his time in the NBA and I never recall him making that kind of big money in the NBA. Hell I remember when Derrick Coleman and Glen Robinson were the highest paid players in the NBA because their rookie contracts were negotiated, not CBA. Kenny Anderson wan no where close to their money.

It's very simple: BUY ASSETS NOT LIABLITIES

house; stocks; mutual funds; partnerships; anythign paying residual income or earning equity; yes

cars; clothes; boats; yachts; planes; anything with a monthly payment that depreciates; no.

they don't know this though.

yup; this is all solid.

but loooooool @ putting it in a savings account. good luck with your 2% pal. the bank will take it and invest it anyway and take all the profits that you would reap.
