Exactly!! If Lebron comes here he has to accept being the 2nd man. This is Rose's team.

There are 28 teams in the NBA that would immediately become "LeBron's team" the minute he slides on their jersey. Chicago is not one of the other 2 teams.

Imo being a franchise player is not all about puting up sensational numbers every game.A player has to be humble and show some respect to their job and other players also. Lebron fails in that category.

Reina - The LeBron James Power Rankings

Post#122 » by davhern » Fri May 14, 2010 2:53 pm

http://realgm.com/src_feature_pieces/90 ... z0ntTu5pDU

The Genuine Candidates

3. Cavaliers: The Cavaliers have the inertia and home state factor, which absolutely counts for a lot in this decision. LeBron must also surely trust Dan Gilbert's unwavering dedication to spending money by the truckload to bring in any player that could conceivably help their chances, but their core has proven to be underwhelming and is also aging.

Cleveland had a chance to have cap room for this coming summer, but went all in with the double-down strategy and it is difficult to see how they can get more than just incrementally better from year to year.

We all know it doesn't work this way, but if LeBron could be simply handed titles over the next half decade and he was also given his choice of where he would do it, I sincerely believe it would be in Cleveland.

2. Knicks: Answering the same question, I believe New York would be LeBron's first preference after Cleveland; his obsession with the energy and culture of New York is palpable and is unlike anything we've witnessed from a star of his magnitude.

He knows the Knicks will spend as much as possible and give him every accommodation in the world, plus he will conceivably bring along Bosh or Wade, but how much trust does he have in Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Toney Douglas and whatever they can get back for Eddy Curry's expiring contract? Conceivably, that would eventually be enough for the Knicks to win a title(s), but LeBron fully knows now that there are no guarantees. The second superstar makes all the world of difference compared to the last two seasons with the Cavaliers, but it could still not be enough firepower, depending on how other teams evolve.

1. Bulls: The nucleus of Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah seems tailor-made for a superstar wing and Chicago also has Luol Deng as a fourth option, or even Bosh or Wade if they do a sign-and-trade using Deng. Add in Kirk Hinrich and Taj Gibson and the spectra of MJ's statue becomes less of an issue than it seemed a few months ago because LeBron would have the cleanest path to a title in Chicago.

If John Calipari is hired, LeBron and Rose will be able to run Vance Walberg's dribble-drive offense like it is on steroids and you won't see the kind of offensive inconsistency we saw against Boston. It will be an endless loop of dribble penetration of two unstoppable athletes and an endless loop of championships.

Jordan was humble with his gambling, and his legendary trash talk?

"You’re an idiot. You’ve screwed up every play we ever ran. You’re too stupid to even remember the plays. We ought to get rid of you." – Michael to Horace Grant

"It’s a hell of a lot easier to make Earl Monroe look good than it is Brad Sellers."

"We’re beating a lot of poor teams. So what? We won a lot of games last year, too. Will Horace and Bill still be playing at this level in the playoffs…Can Pip keep it up?"

"I hate being out there with those garbagemen. They don’t get you the ball."

"They’ve got no idea what it’s all about. The white guys, they work hard, but they don’t have the talent. And the rest of them? Who knows what to expect? They’re not good for much of anything."

"I know what’s gonna happen. We’ll wait until the last minute and then they’ll say something like they couldn’t get a deal done because of the cap or somebody pulled out at the last minute. It happens here all the time. I don’t know why I’m surprised every year."

"He can’t do anything with the ball. Don’t give it to him." – Michael yelling at Paxson who passed the ball to Perdue

Even though Jordan was a dick the whole city of Chicago gave him a pass. Whatever cockiness LeBron and Kobe exert doesn't even scratc the surface of Jordan's

LeBron and Rose fit perfectly because Rose wants to win and is more than willing to defer the spotlight of the team to a guy like James. KG is VERY similar to that. He really doesn't want to be the face of the Celtics, he wants it to be a team. It was KG who made every appearance include Pierce/Allen when that team was doing photo shoots, etc and now that KG is a part of the cog and he is winning, he loves it.

Look, I get that people like Rose and fear James taking over the team from him. I to be honest don't have any concerns that this team would defer to him like the Cavs did. I think a guy like Joakim Noah, not only in talent but in what he does and says to teammates, is a perfect counterbalance to the outgoing nature that James has that I think led to a downfall in Cleveland.

I think you would have a "big three" of different behaviors: James is the outgoing type, Rose is the quiet leader type and Noah is the intense leader type.

Or Kobe? Or Kevin Garnett? Or Larry Bird? Tim Duncan, Magic Johnson are literally the only guys in the top 10-15 of players for me who wasn't a bad ass trash talker/win at all cost guys.

I know LeBron is the most talented/best player in the league, however, my concern is that he doesn't have the desire or motivation.

I don't even remotely share your concern about LeBron's motivation. All of the media discussion on that point is downright hilarious to me (no offense).

But to answer your original question, sure. KG was DPOY and, by a pretty wide margin, the best player on the team the year the Celtics won the title. But it was still considered Paul Pierce's team and KG openly deferred to him as the leader.

I guess I was talking more about LeBron's leadership ability. I think that is a skill he doens't trully have yet. Surprisingly I think Noah and to a lesser extent Rose are naturals in that department.

I didn't mean he is someone who gives up or anythin like that.

Good find. Another piece that raises our expectations to believe Lebron to Chicago is a done deal. I want to think Lebron will be a Bull next season, but I would go into depression if I had these expectations and we start our season with Joe Johnson instead.

I like this

Again, the argument "LeBron doesn't have a win BECAUSE of his actions" is incredibly flawed. There is no "way" that a star has to act. Duncan was a pro through and through and won 4 titles. MJ was a hated sonbitch who knocked out teammates, compulsively gambled, and who won 6 titles. Kobe is the biggest diva in the league and has thrown games to prove points on countless occassions and has won 4 rings. KG has played at 120% his whole career and has a ring.

Anybody else catch the front page of ESPNchicago.com ? It kind of gave me goosebumps. That picture looks better than the other photoshopped ones i've seen.

LOL Skip and Rob on ESPN says his supporting cast in Chicago is 'suspect' and may not even be better than his cast in Cleveland.

Also even ASKED if D Rose is better than anyone on Cleveland! LMAO comedy

They said playing in MJ's shadow, he'd have to win 6 just to get out of his shadow....

Well my bet is he probably would win more than 6 if this all plays out accordingly.
