I hope Bill Simmons's loved ones are keeping watch over him, because that dude might hyperventilate himself to death over this. With Boston's defeat of LeBron, the future of the NBA and all mankind has been irrevocably altered!!!

Despite winning sixty-plus games, that Cavs team has some obvious flaws...beats me whether or not LeBron will stay in Cleveland with that team.

Boston's playing really well right now, and Orlando hasn't had to play a good team yet...but I'm still thinking Magic in six. Maybe five. Sorry Bill.

lol

You're right about the Cavs and their flaws. Antwan Jamison was a big mistake IMO. Their defensive matchups were awful as Jeff Van Gundy pointed out last night in the pre-game show, and Mo Williams can't stop anybody on defense. Even if the Cavs did win this series riding the back of James, i don't see how they would have beat Orlando. I just don't.

As for last night's game, i thought it was a great game. It was back and forth, it didn't seem like a eastern conference semi-final game 6, it seemed like a game 6 of the NBA finals. But, i thought the finish was very bizarre. Anderson Varejao seemed to quit on a play mid-way through the fourth and even some NBA reporter tweeted about it as it happened, then the Cavs did not foul Boston with just over a minute to go in the game and when Paul Pierce missed the shot, Williams and the entire Cavs offense had no urgency at all. The ESPN crew was even shocked when Williams was walking up with the ball. They wasted tons of time and then went for a lay up, which they missed, then passed it to an open Varejao for a three who missed. I mean, i understand they were probably already sunk but miracles do happen and why not fight til the end? I just thought that was very odd. Anybody else see it my way?

I will say this too, props to ESPN. I watched with several friends last night the 6pm sports center which was almost like a pre-game show for an hour and a half, leading up to NBA Shootaround and then the game. The game ended like 10:45 and from that point on until 12:30, the entire sports center was dedicated to the game and they had tons of guests and live press conferences and such, i really liked the coverage. I am not a fan of either team but i was glued to the TV. Some say it was "too much" but i didn't think so.

Celtics were just much better defensively, and their "Big 4" (Pierce, Garnett, Allen, and Rondo) outplayed Cleveland's "Big 4" (LeBron, Jamison, Shaq, and Mo Williams). Even starting the game, I didn't understand Mike Brown's matchups. Shaq guarding Garnett? Really? KG literally must've hit 8 mid-range jumpers hardly contested.

The "big 4" as you mentioned, i forgot to say this in my post but the play that stands in my head and i think was the series in a nutshell was middle of the fourth, Williams turned the ball over and Celtics had a 4 on 1 break..... Rondo, Pierce, Garnett and Tony Allen vs. James. I realize Allen isn't Ray Allen lol but Garnett finished the play with a dunk and IMO it was a perfect play to pretty much kill the Cavs, it's been a 4 vs. 1 battle all series.

Even Jordan needed Pippen. Kareem had Oscar and Magic. Bird had Parish and McHale. Drob had Duncan, and the other way around on the second time. Hakeem had Drexler. And so on. And so forth.

Now I want to see the Lakers lose. I might go to one of those games. I'll have body armor and a cup of beer.

I can feel Cleveland's pain because I am a Colts fan, very similar with exception to 06'. I have to admit that I would have coronary problems if Peyton left though.

The exception, not the rule. But Jamaal Wilkes.
