Bosh to San Antonio

floating a trade idea to you guys. Bosh is looking for a new place to call home - he wants to be the Man, but also wants to contend. In SA, he could do both (just not right away). Pair him with Duncan and the Spurs are contenders again. When Duncan finally hangs it up, Bosh becomes the Man. All of the current proposals seem to be Houston, LA, Chicago, Miami, and NY, but I wonder if San Antonio isn't the best destination.

here's the trade scenario I see as win-win. Being objective is tricky, so I'm looking for feedback.

to Spurs:

Chris Bosh

to Raptors:

DeJuan Blair
Richard Jefferson
Antonio McDyess
future 1st (protected)

Spurs get perennial all-star PF Bosh, Raptors get a young rebounder and a boatload of capspace with which they can acquire picks and/or prospects. Spurs contend. Raptors rebuild. Bosh gets the situation and contract he wants, and Raptors get assets in return.

The Spurs will be all over this trade.

No way Toronto does it. Dice and Jefferson aren't players they're likely to keep. They'll be viewed as salary fillers. That means Toronto is trading Bosh for Blair and a future 1st (late 1st usually turns up into average players). Blair is good and all, but Toronto will be stupid to basically get him for Bosh. They can get a whole lot more than that.

I think the Spurs will be willing to part with Parker for Bosh. Parker will be a hit in Canada. If not Parker, I think Toronto ask for George Hill.

I'm certainly willing to do something like:

Bosh for Parker, McDyess, and future 1st.

Or if we tweak your offer, I think it has to be something like Blair, Jefferson, George Hill.

I don't see why Dice needs to be included with Jefferson. Jefferson is already making 15 mil. Dice another 5. The max might have an average of 18 mil a year over 5 season, but the first year will still be around 15 million with 8-10 percent raises each year. Doesn't make sense to include Dice.

Historically sign and trades do not net equal value in return. I definitely prefer George Hill to Dice, so his inclusion would be a plus for Toronto. Is Parker on the block?

I don't think the Spurs are openly looking to trade Tony. It's more in the hearts of Spurs fans with the emergence of George Hill that perhaps one has to go. They're both young enough to be the future PG of this team. No point in having two future PGs.

I do understand that sign and trades usually does not net equal value in return, but at the same time then we can just make up trades like Toronto gets Contract Fillers and a 2nd round pick.

Best case scenario is that Bosh demands to be in San Antonio, leaving Toronto with no choice. At the same time, it's not like if Bosh wants to be in San Antonio, Toronto must agree. For Bosh to be in SA, he needs Toronto's help via sign and trade. Meaning Toronto will have leverage. They can say "I'm not taking back 15 mil of unwanted contracts back to help you get Chris Bosh".

If they do want to go young instead of taking Tony Parker, I believe atleast 2 (if not all) of these 3 things will go to Toronto. Dejuan Blair, George Hill, 2010 1st rounder.

I'd be all over that, Bosh and Duncan would dominant together. We use this years first to grab a guy like Paul George or Stanley Robinson to fill the hole at SF. Then use the MLE to bring over Splitter or sign some other bigman.

Spurs would have to give up a couple of picks, but since they're playoff team those picks aren't worth as much as say NYK or NJN.

We might get Bosh after his next contact expires...lets say when he's 38. Thats Spurs MO. Washed up has beens that can still give you a solid 10 mins.

Toronto will not trade Weems. I can see a possible trade if the Spurs are willing to take either Calderon or Turk and give back Blair, Hill and RJ's expiring

Spurs would need to offer Hill or Blair, rights to splinter, and Jefferson, plus 1st rounder for Raptors to start considering it. I don't think Raptors want Parker, they already have 2 good point guards.

I am more open at getting Chris Paul, in a deal including, Parker, RJ, Dyse for Paul, Peja, Posey. Hornets shred pay role by taking 3 expiring contracts.

What do you think Bron ends up doing? I think he def leaves the Cavs, and if I were a betting man I'd say he ends up in Chicago. I don't see the point of going to NY, there's nothing in that core* that's worth getting excited about.

* as it's presently constructed.
