BTW, if LeBron doesn't resign in Cleveland I hope he goes to you guys. That'd be a darned fun team to watch.

No way would Obama be dumb enough to go against Cleveland. Ohio is largely republican except Cuyahoga county. No way a Democrat can take Ohio without winning Cleveland in a huge way. In addition, he probably can't win a race without winning Ohio.

Well sure, Obama doesn't want to alienate Ohio, but think about it: the next election is 2.5 years off. If Lebron does go to Chicago in the summer of 2010 and enough Ohio voters still blame Obama for having asked for it and liked it 2.5 years later, and are mad enough to go to the polls and vote Republican, then they weren't going to vote for him in the first place.

EDIT: alucryts, you beat me by a few minutes.

We arent getting Lebron..

Why would you play with an allstar pg and a near allstar center when you can play with superstars such as Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, Toney Douglas and Billy Walker?? Throw in JR Giddins and Sergio Rodriguez and you have one of the most formidable supporting casts in the NBA.

He won't even need to play basketball if he signs with NY. He'll just walk around and take pictures with all his adoring fans thanking him for making their franchise relevant once again.

"Garden spokesman Barry Watkins said the Knicks have sold about 2,700 new season tickets, 300 this week alone."

Someone is excited to see Joe Johnson live and in person.

Apparently The Garden smells terrible because they have rodeos there a lot or something.

Well overall the NY side of it is not that Lebron would rather play with Chandler and DannyAiello over Rose and Noah. It's that they'd rather play when them and Bosh then Rose and Noah. Either way both teams are hoping things to fall into place. Chicago hoping for Lebron to sign on the dotted line to play with Rose and Noah/supporting cast. New York is hoping Lebron AND Bosh will sign to play together with their guys. Which is more likely is a matter of perspective.

Surely that is what they're hoping. Although, think about it. The Knicks have no draft 1st round picks until 2115. They have no center. They have no PG. They have no true SG (Wilson Chander being a 2/3 who is not a great 3-point shooter; Toney Douglas has yet to show that he's a full-time starter). Their best prospect (Gallo) plays the same position as Lebron. Is that really better material to work with than what Cleveland has now? Cleveland has a PG who can pass and also hit the open 3 at a great clip. They have SGs who can hit the 3 and defend (Parker). They have a PF who can hit the 3 (Jamison). They have a bunch of big men (Varejao, Big Z, and Shaq, who would probably re-sign if LeBron comes back).

Sergio
Chander/ Douglas/ Walker
LeBron/ Gallo/ Walker
Bosh/ Gallo/ LeBron
Curry/ Bosh

I've said that I'm worried that maybe Lebron will buy the Big Apple hype. But if he does, he's stupid. If he really wants to capture that market, then New Jersey. But not NY.

Oh I know, just stating their entire perspective isn't what they have vs. what we have. Their hope is they can not only sell their plan to Lebron, but also to Bosh..and hope neither asks how they plan to add youthful talent in the near future.

I doubt we get Bron because JR doesn't want an ego like Bron ruining is ATM which is the Bulls. Fans have been donating to JR for years and all its gotten them is at best an 8th seed.

Bulls will show interest in Bron but I doubt its genuine.

You're right. It doesn't make any sense for an owner to add a player that would increase the value of his franchise exponentially.

I saw some financial/business analyst on ESPN today. Or thats what I assumed he was. Had that air about him. Missed his name. Anyway, He was talking about how Nike will push for Lebron to go to the best team with the best chance of winning, because the best way for them to sell shoes around the world, especially overseas, and extra especially China, is for Lebron to be a champion. In China for example, Kobe is way way larger than Lebron because Kobe is a champion, and thats what sells shoes in China. Which is agiant emerging market. So....that sounds like Chicago. I imagine Nike will have a huge influence over Lebron.

Bodog odds on where LeBron plays next year:

Cavs 8/11
Bulls 2/1 up from 5/2 yesterday
NYK 5/2 up from 9/2 yesterday

Another thing that Broussard has mentioned is trying to get PJax from LA. If the Magic end up beating the lakers this in the Finals, then PJax could leave. I know he'll demand 10+ mil, but that would be the perfect scenario. There's probably 0% chance of Pjax leaving, or JR spending the money, but it'd be a hell of a move.

I don't think LBJ is enough to win a ring. It gets us closer, but we'll need a really good coach and good role players.

If not Phil, perhaps someone like Scott, JVG or Larry Brown should be hired if LeBron comes here.

How would you all feel if Larry Brown leaves CHA so he can coach LeBron? He's taken the 76ers to the Finals and have won with the Pistons.
