sorry, i was kinda in a rush, he was on seth everett's show on 1050. Basically said who are these guys & why aren't they pointing out the warts in chicago like they're doing about nyc. Said Chicago hasn't gotten it right when dealing with coaches since the phil jackson fiasco. Asked what do they have besides Rose who may not be a good fit with lebron. Said D'Antoni's style of coaching is similar to Callipari's, mentioned specifically the "dribble/drive" style both employ. Said lebron was upset with the cavs "unimaginative" offense & what better offensive mind is there to coach lebron than dantoni. said it'd be easier for lebron to pick his teammates than it would be to try & adapt to chicago's ball dominant point guard.

sorry, hung over. dont feel like typing full sentences or correct english.

yea I heard this to. Alan Hahn is the man, essentially called out the media that seems to be ignoring the obvious.

I know we are used to being dissapointed and often expect failure, (some people on here evenn seem to root for it) but we are actually the most stable situation of all other potential landing spots. We have a well respected coach, regardless of all issues last year, regardless of all the knocks against mike. He is well respected among the games greats. And Donnie just beams stability. You can't phase him, can't shake him, he is the most interesting man in basketball. Again just widely well respected.

It's funny. Teams without coaches are being turned into positives since Lebron can pick his coach. Yet here where he can pick his own teammates it's being reported as we don't have any players. If we had no coach n D. Rose, you bet your ass the reports would be that "New York got no coach".

It is also the fact that the national media is tryin to make this more of a national story. It really isn't there are very few teams with access to Lebron. Again it's a two horse race as we are the only city that can offer enough sponsorship and advertisement dollars to cover the amount Lebron would be turning down if he left Cleveland.

I don't get why people are bashing Hahn so much on these boards lately. He usually reports good info and doesn't get involved in dumb sh*t like Berman and the others. I don't always agree with him (e.g., he didn't get on D'Antoni for not playing the rookies), but he is a good journalist in general.

good point.. excellent post.. and really I am tired of people downplaying chandler and gallo, when honestly, they are not only a great fit for lebron, but these guys are proven competitors and are improving each year...yea, they have no playoff experience, that is understandable, but for me, what I count on is basketbal character.. these guys performed well and played hard during very tough times these past two years, and they play at MSG, home of some of the toughest fans in the world, if they can do that, through the bad times, I am not going to question their ability to play under bright lights and pressure..

the next thing is cap space. Lebron can hand pick another player, or players. A lot of things can happen this summer. Walsh has set up the knicks nicely for this summer. It is just so hard for people to admit it, but that is OK.. sooner or later when we start winning, they will have no choice...

^ It just points out the obvious bias so called "sports analysts" have against the KNICKS.

If you're any type of LEGITIMATE sports person, how do you completely overlook what NY has to offer this year, as if it doesn't exist??? No other franchise can basically offer LeBron the chance to pick his own team. They don't have to like NY. But they also don't have to ignore us like our value is non-existent. I wanna see what they say when Donnie pulls all this off!

The good thing with Chandler and Gallo is that while they have no playoff experience, they look playoff ready. Gallo always rises for the big games and do-or-die moments and Wilson seems to be completely unflappable, he always plays at the same high intensity level.

The whole "pick your own coach" thing is stupid. Because when you're as big as Lebron you can always pick your own coach. What you can't always have is a stable environment, which Donnie's created. You also can't get on the phone to Amare or Bosh on June 30th then tell your franchise which one to hire the next day.

I'm not saying we're the clear front runners but I'd love to see the journalists point out our positives as much as they do other teams.

good point.. Lebron can go to any team and pick a coach.. simple and plain.. but here is what bothers me..

* what does chicago have that is such a draw? derrick rose? LOL.. if that is the case, lebron can go to miami and play with wade who is better, and please writers, stop it with the noah, taj gibson and hinrich bull crap.. No one is going to chicago to play with those guys...

* writers are failing to point out, the knicks have a stable coach, good young players as well. YES, GALLO, CHANDLER, Douglas, WALKER, are good young players..... Just admit it... This is not being a homer, put them on any team, give them time and these cats will perform..

* Lebron can handpick who he wants to play with. Bosh, amare, or he can say, lets split the money up between lee and a center, or lee and another guard.. the possibilities are great here.. we can do a lot of things other teams just can't.. that is the biggest factor people are forgetting..

REally, these moronic writers don't have to give us credit... Do we really need that? In the end, these guys are no different than the hating fans that troll these boards, who have finally realized that after two years of laughing at the knicks talk about cap space, the day is finally here. It is no longer funny, but rather a bitter sense of reality kicking in, and they have no other way than to cowardly and irresponsibly respond this way...

It reminds me of a guy who loves ferrari's, he thinks they are the gretest cars in the world... and of course not many people have in their circles or know those who can afford that car... but let the circumstances of someone he knows change to where they can buy one, and watch how all of a sudden , Ferrari's become overpriced pieces of junk in his eyes... LOL... typical, typica, hate..

years ago, it was the knicks have no cap space, no young players no future.... now the knicks have cap space, young players and a future, and all of a sudden young players are not that important and cap space is overrated.. hahahahahahahha!!!!!!!!!!

The bulls are the new hype. Get them advertising dollars up because LBJ/NY has been done to death. Amazing how a team that went through so much term oil, has no coach and a terrible owner is now the team to worry about. Media is a business.

Who wants to get involved in a business relationship with Reinsdorf? Really. This is the most important part of it all and it goes unmentioned.

3rd largest market in the world. A stingy owner that has been known to make trouble. Some good young talent but does not seem to be a great fit.

vs

Largest market in the world. A blind spender for a owner that gets close to his business partners. The worlds largest stage for a arena. Solid young players best suited to take roles. A free flowing offensive coach. The chance to chose a running mate.

The reasons I hate Dolan are the reasons why a young man with billion dollar dreams would love him. Reinsdorf would be looking for ways to trim the team to save money. Break it up. Ask Jordan, Phil, Pippen. The Cavs have LOST money. And gilbert is on record mentioning the pay roll. If he left home, WHY would he go to another stingy owner? WHY?

As fans Dolan is a sour taste. But look at the IT situation not as a fan but as a potential business partner. Dolan lost big money there and STILL stood by his side. That loyalty sucks for us fans. But how would it look if your trying to get into business with him? Unlimited money and resources attached to a man that willing to walk through the fire with you.

The funniest thing of all IMO, every one of these writers, annalists, insiders, STILL list the knicks as a option. They break it down, why this team is good, that team, skip the knicks and still list them as a option. Its a joke.

^ Maybe the problem is that if Lebron can pick his own teammates--which he can't---he'd pick Rose. Since NY isn't getting Rose, the next best thing is going to Chicago?
