Love is not fit to hold Al's jock when it comes to converting around the rim. Have you ever paid attention to Love's offensive boards, because quite a few of them come after he fails to covert a layup around the rim, he actually inflates his rebounding numbers by missing so many easy shots.

I keep hearing this, but other than his outlet passes I have yet to see any evidence of either.

Agreed, but that wasn't the question.....it was Love v Al, not Love v Darko..

It' not fair towards Al to bring passing into discussion.

You mean outside of the better assist rate? Love's a better passer than Jefferson, that doesn't make him a great passer but he is better.

It's not a bad frontcourt, but it's a not a running front court either, and it's definitely not an athletic front court. I think we're looking for something different.

Running front court? Well. that's the crap Kahn usually feeds us with, but Kahn's boyfriend Kurt Rambis clearly favours froncourts like he used to coach in LAL. I wouldn't call Gasol and Bynum super athletic freaks running up and down the court. Rambis clearly like superior length and skill in his big men, that why he likes Darko.
So far I wouldn't call Rambis a running game fan, but Kahn is clearly Rambis' fan. So this whole situation with his obsession of running game is confusing for me. Maybe Kahn doesn't know what he's doing?

The moves this offseason should provide us all with more clarity. They didn't have the personnel to run (or shoot for that matter) this past year so it's difficult to say what they wanted to do.

Disagree. He might be a more willing passer -- especially because he can't create his own offense. That doesn't make him a better passer. For every additional assist Love has, he also has an additional turnover. He throws the ball away in the half court much more often than Al does.

I'd call Bynum more athletic freak than super skilled big man. Everyone likes superior length and skill, but everyone also likes superior athleticism.

The Wolves played at a much faster pace this year than they did last year. It's way too early to say that Rambis doesn't like to run. Given the way Khan has talked about the running game, I have to assume that it was discussed with Rambis before he was hired. It almost has to be a shared goal.

Aldrich threw out the first pitch when the Twins played the Royals in Kansas City last month. He was on the air with Dick and Bert (Twins announcers for the out of town Wolves fans) for a half inning or so after. Completely unprompted, he started talking about how great it would be for him to play for the Wolves. Said he grew up a Wolves fan, would love to play in front of friends and family, would love to be part of a turnaround here. It was nice to see, especially after the past year of hearing people talk about how much Rubio hates this place.

It's too bad that his range starts almost right after our first pick and ends almost right before our second pick. He'd provide some much needed control of the paint on the defensive end.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

Would people trade Love for Aldrich? Then follow with a Pekovic trade?

Rubio/Flynn
Turner/Brewer/Ellington
Childress?/George?
Jefferson/(#23 + Pekovic?)
Milicic/Aldrich

No. Love is a better (but different) player than Aldrich.

Love has more talent. However, when considering defense in the equation, which player would have a greater impact? I think a team with Aldrich instead of Love might produce more wins. I'm not really a fan of either player, but Aldrich would want to be here long term and I'm not so sure about california boy Love.

Seems like Love should have a bit more value than that. I think KL might return the #5 (or 4 possibly) and that's a little too early for Aldrich. Maybe Peks and the 16th?

I think Aldrich should be in consideration for the #5 pick. After the top 4, no one really separates themselves to claim the #5 spot. I think who ever is picking there will be drafting for need. In other words, the #5 doesn't hold much more value than the #7 pick in my opinion.

Johnson, Aminu, Aldrich, Monroe, Davis are all in the same tier. For us, perhaps Johnson/Aminu has more value based on our more glaring need at the 3 spot. However, for a team like Detroit one would have to think Aldrich would have more value. Thus, if we are able to fill our hole at the 3 through free agency or via trade, then I think Aldrich would have #5 pick "value."

I don't hate that front court, but I think ideally that if you want to keep Jefferson and Milicic, the 3rd big would be an athletic PF/C who can run the floor. Someone in the mold of Favors or Ed Davis. Does that mean I would draft Ed Davis over Aldrich? I don't know.

Yeah, I agree with that. Favors without question. I'm not convinced that Davis is that player though. Maybe he is, I just haven't seen enough yet. I like Udoh a lot in that role.

McHale would've drafted Aldrich in the top-3. Fact.
