alright so first off we know multiple teams have multiple picks in the first round and some have come out saying they could be willing to deal it and some you would speculate like OKC they are so young and they dont need anymore young guys they need to add veteran pieces around the core group they have..So saying this we bought last years pick for 3 mill which i really think we could do this year again and hope we do.
But now to my MAIN QUESTION...
What could we realistically get in a deal for Bill Walker (22 years old) the 3 mill which i think is the most you can offer for a pick and maybe one of the 2nd rounders IF WE HAD TO to make it a higher pick but do you guys think there's any way we could enter the mid 20's by just buying a pick but then with that deal what do you guys think we could get back and do you think there's anyway we could get a pick in the upper teens for a deal like that...
Walker showed flashes of great athleticism and a much better jumpshot then was lead to believe and also a great finisher averaging 12/3 for us and his per 36 min would of been 16/4/1 steal plus he shot 43% from three....He also not in the best shape and is defently getting in better shape now as we speak maybe losing 7-10 pounds....What do you guys think????
Potentially we could have this in a very deep draft and get some real talent to help continue to build this organization without dealing Gallo and chandler and finding better players who can fit this system and help us moving forward..
2 2nd round picks
1 Bought Pick in the mid later 20's
and that deal bringing in a late teen's pick, any chance you guys think this could happen and to what teams and where are they drafting??
what could we get in a deal like this......on draft night

hmmm, maybe add Bill Walker (cheap young talent) along with Eddy Curry (large expiring contract) to a team thats rebuilding and currently has a big man who does not fit their long term plan???

Is Tyson Chandler still alive?
We should target Charlotte in a trade...
There rotation of big men did a good job on Dwight Howard in the 1st round (that's what were afraid of right???)
Tyson makes 12.75M, expires after 2010-2011
Nazr Mohammed makes 6.8M, expires after 2010-2011
Do you think Charlotte would trade Tyson for Curry and Walker and cash?
I think Chandler is worth the risk, he's the prototype shot-blocking center we would need around our cast, very similar to Camby... i wonder what hes get left in the tank and how serious his injury is, but worst case, he expires this year too
Add in the fact that Charlotte has 68M in committed salaries for a 1st round sweep team, and are known to be cheap, I think its worth keeping an eye on

Walker and 3 Mil in cash could net us a pick in the teens for sure. His emergence at the end of the season could be appealing to a young, fun team such as Houston or Memphis.

no, picks in teens require more lucrative packages....the best we can do on draft night is to buy a late 1st rounder

i personally don't see what people see in wes johnson being a top 5 pick. i don't see him being better than chandler, and i think walker has the same upside.

Each first rounder has a cap hold, correct? Have to believe it is more than 2m, right? Well, we don't have that much left over to sign to max guys. Since the draft is first, there is no way to know if we are getting two guys or not. If we buy a pick, one of those guys has to sign for less than max. Correct?
