I knew this was gonna have to be the route taken, too many nonsense threads and LeBron just finished his season like 4 days ago, we have another month and a half of this bull. Now we just need a separate thread dedicated for the Bulls trolls to post in.

Shortly after the Cavaliers were eliminated by the Celtics in the semifinals last Thursday night, LeBron James placed a call to Bulls point guard Derrick Rose.

Rumor is that James told Rose that he likes his game, his team and would like a chance to play together.

Mike McGraw of the Daily Herald writes that it's quite possible he made similar calls to Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh or Brook Lopez, but James has made it clear that he's intrigued by Chicago.

The phone call to Rose was mentioned by ESPN reporter Scoop Jackson and confirmed by a league source.

The Bulls have $20 million in cap space this summer, enough to sign James outright.

A little satire (if you're a Cavs fan, please stop reading now):

There is going to be a cartoon re-make of the RealCavsFan billboard in Cleveland as follows:

Born here
Raised here
Plays here
Loses here
Leaves here (ripping off jersey)

If Lebron does decide to come here now, his entire time here will be shrouded in conspiracy theories as to how he got here. Did we get Isiah so we could suck until Lebron was available? Isiah was hired the December after Lebron entered the league. Did we have an under the table agreement with Stern/James? Is that why we gave up so much to get rid of Jefferies and bring in Lebron's sidekick? Did Lebron tank this last series to make it easy to come here? Are reporters counting in Chicago so that NY won't be such an obvious choice when he finally decides? As little sense as some of these conspiracy theories make, they will forever follow Lebron if he decides to play for NY.

But I have no problem with that. I'm comfortable with conspiracy theories regarding how we got our franchise player. Feels...familiar.

LOL

He's not a Knicks fan but a troll who makes stupid posts from time to time when he's bored. He created this account in 2003 to impersonate a legit poster (LuvThoseKnicks) and a true knicks fan. He's just trying to make Knicks fans look bad. He has less than 300 posts in seven years so my guess is it's not his main account and username on Realgm.

:o Woah! You went pretty far out into conspiracy there. That's wackier than the Ewing draft theory. Think about that: LeBron enter the league and Stern was in cahoots with Dolan to hire Isiah and stink up the joint for years until we could acquire him :o :o :o If I were in an insane asylum I wouldn't feel as crazy as that observation you put out there :D

That was an excellent read. Lots of good points.

My gut is that LeBron shares the opinion of the writer and is just playing with the media like we knew he would. LeBron is smart. He knows this game and he knows this business. If he's going to leave Cleveland, it's gonna be to come to NY to create a new kind of legacy with another max player worthy of a REAL title run. (See: Kobe Bryant)

I'll break it down in my own words:

Although Chicago has struggled to get back to the top of the NBA, they've clearly had more success than us over the past bunch of seasons, especially after lucking out with Rose. So sure- Rose is a really good player with potential to be great- and with recent playoff appearances and more media attention, the people lobbying for LeBron to the Bulls will try to wow you with names and the promise of putting more talent around Bron.

Not so fast. While there's no doubt the Bulls would be a very good team with LeBron James, it's quite foolish of people to think the Knicks can't do the same if not better. As many have stated, one of the most unlikely scenarios in all of this is the Cavs actually TRADING LeBron to the Bulls, making it difficult for CHI to add anything else to their roster through free agency. The Knicks on the other hand can and WILL sign another max player or something close to it should they get LeBron to commit to NY. Add to that the fact that this is New York City...a place void of Michael Jordan-like expectations but full hungry fans longing for their own Jordan and a championship banner or 2....or 6. This is also a city and "stage" bigger and brighter than anywhere else in the world. And this is also LeBron James where talking about so quit dismissing that simple fact as a factor in all of this.

Most importantly, as Knick fans (many of us very dedicated), we don't need anyone else aside from LeBron to recognize the other talent we have left over here. We don't need Bulls fans or Cavs fans to praise Gallo, Chandler or Toney Douglas. We know what these guys can do and have already done in their short time in this league. A job well done by Donnie Walsh, yet one that will be overlooked until the King is finally here. If LeBron was already on this team since the day Donnie arrived, I'd say he's done a quality job of adding young pieces around him that actually FIT, especially considering the limited resources he's had to do so. You have a PG who scores and defends like a beast, you have 2 young athletes on the wing with legit size who can also score and defend, and then there's Gallo who I believe with or without LeBron, will eventually become a premier player in this league. A 6-11 frame, incredible heart and a lethal touch from literally anywhere on the floor....and improving every day.

So again, while the Bulls may have more players under contract and a few young players who have gained more clout than ours....when you add it all up...where is all this extra talent? The Bulls are no Thunder nor are they Portland Trailblazer-like. I love Rose and Noah, but I fail to see where the rest of their cast impresses. When comparing prospects, Rose may be the best of the bunch, but at the end of the day...we have a young PG who defends and can shoot the 3- glaring weaknesses in D-Rose's game. At the end of the day, we have one of the best shooters in the league. At the end of the day, we have 4 young talented players who can grow around LeBron and actually mesh with his style of play...as opposed to Rose and Noah who don't necessarily give him anything he hasn't already failed with. At the end of the day, we also have a coach who, no matter what people say, LeBron is a big fan of.

At the end of the day, NY simply has much more to offer to a guy like LBJ. And like I said, LeBron knows this game inside and out. So whether or not fans of other teams posting on a message board or the talking heads in mass media see things the way we see them....LeBron's opinion is likely much less tainted. Translation: I still love our chances.

Oh, I know it's insane. But frozen envelopes? Bent corners? I'm sure those sounded insane on lottery day too. They have sure grown into a life of their own.

As far as these conspiracies go... the only thing close to a conspiracy is Stern walking into Charles Dolan's office and 6 months later the Knicks hire Walsh after Stern's cryptic remarks about the team getting "better" in the near future. Delivering an executive with Walsh's connections and resume and knowing full well what sort of implications lay ahead really set the ball rolling.

The whole thing does feel somewhat staged and with the recent events going on with LeBron I'm thinking more and more that he really is coming here.

I don't buy him going to Chicago AT ALL and think there is some other explanation behind that - maybe helping Coach C back into the NBA or maybe something else. He is certainly putting his feelers out there but all year people have been talking about a two team race - NY and Cleveland. Now, his return to Cleveland is getting more and more unlikely and all of a sudden this Chicago thing crops up.

My money is now on LeBron to NYC!

^ And to add to the conspiracy...

Don't forget D'Antoni was also supposed to go coach Chicago at the time. But at the last minute he changed his mind and came to the KNICKS instead, who had an incredibly worse record than the Bulls at the time.

So if the conspiracy is correct, first we got Walsh. Then we got D'Antoni. So it just makes sense that next we get........ :D

Awesome, no more Lebron Cultists threads plaguing the front page.

It's basically all the same stuff and ends out to be the same exact argument as to why/why not Lebron will/will not go to A,B,C, or/and D.

Thanks though.

I'd love to see Walsh steal Lebron away from Chicago. On the Bulls Board most of them seem to think they will get Lebron and it's a no brainer for him to sign with the Bulls. It was the same stuff two years ago with Mike d'Antoni.

It would be so sweet to break the hearts of Bulls fans once again ! LOL
