I haven't seen this mentioned yet, but I'm aware it may have been...

Anyway, I saw Broussard on ESPN this morning saying the top 3 contenders for LeBron are Chicago, Cleveland, and....NEW JERSEY! He said his sources said NY isn't up there at the moment cause of their bad roster. That seems like a stretch, but I dunno...

You have to look at this way though, it all depends on what lebron wants to go, if he leaves cleveland, Chicago is a better spot for him than New Jersey because in New Jersey, he'd be playing on a team who had the worse record in the NBA. He wouldn't be playing in Brooklyn for another two years. And he more than likely can't have Calipari as his coach, i mean why would Calipari want to coach again the team that fired him.

Oh, I believe Chicago is better than NJ. I just have a hard time believing NJ is higher on his list than NY.

I think they are, i mean they're moving to brooklyn and have a better young roster. They may have finished with a worse record but they definitely have better pieces there than NY. I mean NY has overhyped their players, i think Chandler is ok and Gillonari is a kover type player.

updated chances of landing lebron:

34% cavs
27% bulls
20% knicks
11% nets
8% heat

essentially bulls increase, cavs decrease, both by around 7%, presumably due to confirmed rumor of lebron contacting drose

SMH @ the Bulls indirectly saying they wouldn't go after Cal even if it meant getting Bron.

^^Well, Broussard is stating the same thing, from "people close to James," that Calipari is not a must. I'm guessing JR's people are sending these little feelers out to LeBron's people and have gotten this as the message.

But the source with knowledge of the Bulls front office's thinking said that at no point has there been discussion about packaging Calipari to get James to come to Chicago. The source also said that bringing Calipari along to get James would lessen Calipari's status in the locker room, because he'd be seen as the coach who is only there because of James.

Who f'ing cares?! It's Lebron f'ing James!

OK, cool. I saw a report earlier saying that they were possibly a package deal. It struck me as strange after reading that WT that the FO would come out with a statement like that.

Too many damn rumors!

Seems to me that if Lebron wants Cal, Rose wouldn't have a problem with Cal being there. I'm also pretty sure most the players would be pretty psyched to have Rose and Lebron to run with.

Is the draft lottery tomorrow? That should dramatically affect the Nets' chances.

So what's this I'm hearing that LeBron found out Delonte West is bangin his mom? This is an absurd story that couldn't possibly be true. However, if it is, it's just another bullet point in the "Con's" list for Cleveland.

A supposed trusted insider from OSU claims that LeBron is staying and that the decision has been made for a while...

http://www.realcavsfans.com/showthread.php?t=31406

All in this thread...

I cant link because it is premium content. But the OSU insider over at Ohiostate.scout.com has made an announcement on Lebron over the insider forum there. He occasionally ventures outside of the realm of college football to make calls on other topics.

This guy is usually very plugged in to the sports world. He has connections to vegas and a ton of connections all around the sports world. He usually hits about 90 percent of Ohio State football's verbals before they announce.

He was extremely plugged in on the issues surrounding USC during their scandals and revealed a lot of that stuff before it was revealed on yahoo.

In short this guy usually bats around 90 percent or so on his calls. And as of two days ago, from a source as close to Lebron as could possibly be without being Lebron.

He said Lebron isnt going anywhere. It will be a tremendous news event. Lebron is happy to have his name in the papers and on ESPN. He wont stop it. He will make a spectacle of his announcement.

But he isnt going anywhere. Biggest non news story of the summer.

Enjoy the ride!

Sounds like we'll get Kobe-d. That said, I'll be as excited for this summer if we land Wade, Bosh, or Amare.

FWIW, I'm not going to buy into what a guy who has connections on college recruits says all that hard, especially when it's being hyped by a Cavs board that is probably doing all they can to talk themselves off a ledge (and is thus all too willing to buy into that information).... Just figured I'd pass it on since I came across it.

If that Insider has connections in Vegas and such, he should just keep his mouth shut and bet serious money on Lebron staying, using the best odds he can get. If he keeps talking about it, the odds are sure to get worse (in terms of a return on the money for betting Lebron to Cleveland). So it doesn't make much sense to me.

I've always figured he would just go back to the Cavs, use this as leverage.

But

That team stinks and their hands are tied a bit in terms of making moves to improve.

As has been said before, if winning is his #1 priority, the Bulls would be the best fit.
