All in this thread...

I cant link because it is premium content. But the OSU insider over at Ohiostate.scout.com has made an announcement on Lebron over the insider forum there. He occasionally ventures outside of the realm of college football to make calls on other topics.

This guy is usually very plugged in to the sports world. He has connections to vegas and a ton of connections all around the sports world. He usually hits about 90 percent of Ohio State football's verbals before they announce.

He was extremely plugged in on the issues surrounding USC during their scandals and revealed a lot of that stuff before it was revealed on yahoo.

In short this guy usually bats around 90 percent or so on his calls. And as of two days ago, from a source as close to Lebron as could possibly be without being Lebron.

He said Lebron isnt going anywhere. It will be a tremendous news event. Lebron is happy to have his name in the papers and on ESPN. He wont stop it. He will make a spectacle of his announcement.

But he isnt going anywhere. Biggest non news story of the summer.

Enjoy the ride!

I think the guy could be right but insiders like him will post a lot this summer. So Called "
plugged" insiders. I mean Broussard supposedly is plugged within lebron's group. You're going to see columinst like broussard and like this guy taking a huge guess saying he's going to do something so that if he ends up doing it, they look legit, etc, etc. It happens on these message boards also.

Um, I'm pretty sure things have changed from a long time ago until now.

I quickly confirmed that this insider did post something on the OSU forum 2 days ago (I signed up briefly for a free trial). The guy also says Wade is 100% staying in Miami, and that Cavs players are all pissed off at Mike Brown who seemed to be "pulling names out of a hat" for his rotations.

WRT to LeBron, he says that "the second source after LeBron himself" tells him LeBron won't be going anywhere. It will be a tremendous non event and that this is all media hype created by LeBron.

All this does is jibe with his most likely destination still being Cleveland, which we already knew.

This daily onslaught of conflicting teases about LBJ's intentions does have the feel of a coordinated media campaign. If that is true, and LeBron has already decided that he is staying in Cleveland, then he will take on Pantheon status in the alltime douchebag pyramid, to borrow a Sports Guy reference.

A supposed trusted insider from OSU claims that LeBron is staying and that the decision has been made for a while...

Maybe, heck maybe even probably. But I believe all of these insiders slightly less than I believe Broussard, who I don’t believe at all. And none of them have the flair of a Black Jesus.

That said, hopefully the people I don’t believe that say he’s going to the Bulls are right.

I just don't see why it should be his most likely destination. Basketball-wise it's a horrible decision with that mediocre core already fairly old and only getting older. Does he really want to tie himself down to that?

Like KG said, you can't get your youth back.

Sure he does.. just like Michael Jordan ‘still played’ after 1998.

I disbelieve it due to lack of epicness.

* Most money
* Home
* Obviously he cares a lot what people think, and it would probably hurt him deeply to be called a traitor/villain in his hometown and be booed and spit at every time he returns
* He sees that Kobe, after whining/complaining/making enough threats, got what he wanted - Gasol. To my knowledge, LeBron has never gone that far. Maybe he should.
* "The devil you know..."
* He's already won 60+ games with the Cavs two years straight. What about a new coach? Maybe that makes the difference. It definitely got the Pistons over the hump when they fired Carlisle, hired Larry Brown & traded for Rasheed.

To me it would be all about the "known quantities" dictating the odds on who gets James.

* If he stays in Cleveland, he knows exactly what he has, and probably what needs to be fixed, what they are already capable of, and how to get what he wants from the FO.
* If he goes to Chicago, he knows the pieces are all there, no need to make any moves. But what kind of coach though? And can the pieces put together exceed what Cleveland has already done? How willing will management be to tinker with the team and cave into his pressure?
* If he goes to New York, coach is a sure thing. After that, bunch of questions. Is Gallinari at his peak, or can he improve more? Can they actually convince someone else to leave their team to come to what is basically LeBron, Max guy #2, and scrubs? What if that someone else is Joe Johnson and not Chris Bosh? Then what.
* If he goes to Miami, same issue as far as depth, and also the issue of whose team is it? LeBron presumably wants to be the undisputed leader as well as win.
* If he goes to New Jersey, that team only won 12 games. Is LeBron really going to make a 54 game difference? Also, what if John Wall doesn't pan out? What if they can't trade Devin Harris?
* If he goes to the Clippers.....

ah, it's the Clippers, forget it.

Possible. He's been at the site since since 2002 according to his profile, but I think he's just a subscriber himself. Who knows.

I hate to cut that entire post down to just two words, but does the most money thing even apply all that much when he very well might be looking to sign shorter term anyway, and he's one of the few players that can pretty much just keep getting max deals for the foreseeable future?

2012 CBA? He won't be getting this kind of money ever again from a basketball standpoint. It is in his best interests to sign as long term of a deal as possible.

Is the draft lottery tomorrow? That should dramatically affect the Nets' chances.

that's a good point. a lot hinges on john wall. although regardless of that, going to the knicks or nets likely necessitates a rebuilding year (or at least a year where he'd have less of a chance than sticking w/ the cavs)

I just heard on the score during transition between B&B and Danny Mac show that Delonte West slept with Lebron's mom so that's a reason Lebron wants out!

Definitely crossing the fingers the Nets dont get the 1st pick. . Hoping Sac gets the 1st pick.
